Regarding the nanite torpedos, although it looks cool to shoot 2 torpedos into the vents, the Xeno Strike Force has confirmed a single torpedo is enough to close a vent. You can save the slot for the second torpedo and use a thermal vent laser or another AX weapon instead. AX Multi-cannons are better all around weapons, whereas AX missile racks do more damage to the core, but are much harder to use if you try to fight Thargoid ships.

I've seen videos of a Class 2 not blueing a vent by itself and requiring a second shot. Did this get updated, was a server sync issue, or is it that the Class 3 requires one? The Outfitting only shows difference in ammo count between Class 2 and 3.

If you can engineer your ship to run cold (under 20%), and don't boost on the way through the cloud, the caustic shards / mines won't detonate. Some ships require more engineering than others to get there, though.

As a purely solo pilot, I really appreciate your video. I've done AX CZs a lot, but I was always under the impression that Titan combat was exclusive to wings. Thanks for showing me otherwise! I'm just heading to Titan Leigong just now, in my newly-build Krait Mk II, which has always been my fav ship in the game. Haven't flown it in a while since I haven't had much use for it (I use a Challenger for AX CZ). So I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to this experience. Very accessible video, great info; all around an awesome job. o7

Update: The Krait build doesn't work for me, mostly because my understanding of the Titan layout is sub-par. So boosting around like you do does me no good. I just don't know where the vents are, and I need some time to look around. That's why I switched to my Challenger, with thermal vent. Running 1% heat while chilling and getting a good look around. I usually play open, but Titan Leigong seems to be bugged, all vents showing blue with no follow-up. Got another CMDR telling me while we were in there, and confirmed in Reddit. So it's solo for now, since it seems to be a 4+ CMDRs issue. Not a criticism about your vid, it's still immensely helpful. I just haven't figured out your Krait II technique yet. Cheers.

This has to be the best video guide on the interwebs to get involved especially for the noobs as for the first time i managed to shoot some heat vents and some hearts, followed this to the t and there it was right in front of me! Caustic shard is a material. Those are caustic generators. They attracted to heat, so staying cool (25% or less) while they are close is important.

Went to try and see Leigong explode this afternoon. Took a ship i built to explore the aftermath of the explosion instead of one built for combat. I need to do some more work on that build, got killed twice, and missed the meltdown. I think i forgot to put my reinforcements back on. Oops.

something to consider how long the titans will survive the onslaught of the elite community is the number of systems under thargoid control around a titan. At the moment everything about the damage resistente "moderate" is pretty much safe from it. And given that some titans still have around 100 systems that have to be retaken the will be there for a wile. There a great video by cmdr Mechan from the AXI strike force detailing the efforts that have to be taken at the different damage resistances of a titan. Also for a bombing run it is only necessary to fire one torpedo into the heat vents. Therefore the question is if we want to take one class 3 nanite torpedo with an ammunition of 128 or two class 2 with 64 ammunition. The best way to flee from a titan magnetic pulse is, after the damaging of the thermal core to boost away in a 90 degree turn from the titan to find cover in the asteroids. Once there the chance of getting spottet by enemy crafts is relatively low so you can easily fly through the asteroids towards the heat vents to ready another strike. o7 Cmdr

Just built the cobra that you posted and made my first visit to to the thargoid. I only had enough caustic heat sinks to make it to the thargoid to see it then I went boom! really fun. Is there any point in doing research on them? if so how and what do I do to research them?

I was there at Taranis, it was pretty cool honestly. Although I was in-system before meltdown but all the instances were glitched so I didn’t get the kit :(

Its honestly not hard to stay cold. Swap off that shield for more armor and just do a low emissions power plant and thermal efficiency or whatever its called on the experimental. I know it may be a bit of a run to get that engineering unlocked ao you could also just carry heat sinks alongside your caustics. If youre efficient with your run into the titan you can get away with a single caustic module protecting you since the caustic cloud stops once you pass the pulse.

If you have the engineers unlocked, and played for a while so you have most of the materials, then it is the way to go. Dituri's approach however will work if you are short on engineering access and/or materials. While unlocking engineers and gathering material can be an interesting project on its own (or a grind, depending on your mind set), Dituri is focusing on getting the most fun out of each aspect of the game with the least work, or in this case: getting into the Maelstrom and experiencing this spectacle first hand before it is too late.

That’s only possible in ships with at least 3 utility mounts, more viable if you have 4 or 5. If you’re in a ship big enough for that you can probably engineer for cold running anyway. Again, I think cold running IS the best way, just not my preferred method. In the end, I survive long as as I need to, and if people want to survive for as long as possible they’re welcome to use your advice 🫡

Shield builds also viable, but shield regen generates many heat. Thermal beam is neccessery with shield builds.

Questions: Im new to the thargoid war. 1.Why would you merely just want to fly around in the Thargoids cloud. 2.The cobra you have built has no hard points? 3.Is it that hard to navigate if you have never been in a Thargoid cloud before? 4.Is the reason just to learn to navigate the cloud in a cheap rebuy ship? Dont mean to come off sarcastic, honestly would like to know and kudos to your guide its a great introduction. This game can give you insane small fish in big ocean vibes.

All sensible questions! To answer 3, it can be stressful to start with, so a couple tries may be needed. It’s not actually that hard though, and it’s super rewarding. This should answer the others: The builds marked ‘cheap maelstrom divers’ (including the cobra) are purely for getting inside the cloud for the cool experience, which doesn’t require hardpoints. If you fancy some credits and making a difference in the war, damaging the titan is what to do. The builds marked ‘Titan damagers’ are the ones designed to do this, the cheapest of which being a vulture. You can use the cobra for this too, just chuck on a nanite torpedo and some form of AX enhanced weapon, and you’re good to go. Hope that makes sense, sorry if I’ve misunderstood anything 😅🫡

It certainly can, and you’ll survive inside with ease, but only if you throw a caustic sink and thargoid pulse neutraliser in the utility mounts, as they are absolutely essential. They’re available to buy for a few credits (not materials) in any of the rescue mega ships throughout the bubble. As long as your team mates are nearby, then it’ll absolutely work as a healer! Sounds like an awesome strategy 🫡

I’d suggest shielded, as you’ll likely be staying still (or moving slowly) whilst repairing, which nullifies the benefits of cold-running. And in a cutter you can have a stupidly strong shield, so it’s probably the better choice anyway 🫡

Nah, it’s really not bad. As long as you’re looking at the source of the pulse it’s easy to time. I had 3 failed attempts before I got it, and haven’t messed it up since 🫡
