Tharros | l'antica città nuragica | Sardegna | 4K

L’antica città di Tharros rappresenta uno dei siti archeologici più suggestivi del mediterraneo.
E’ un insediamento nuragico risalente al VIII secolo a.C.
Nei secoli fu successivamente riutilizzato, ricostruito, adattato ed espanso dalle varie civiltà che ne hanno avuto il controllo. Dopo la sua fondazione nel periodo nuragico, diventa un emporio fenicio, poi fortezza cartaginese, urbs romana, capoluogo bizantino e capitale arborense.
E’ situato nell’estremità meridionale della penisola del Sinis nel territorio di Cabras, alle spalle della bellissima spiaggia di San Giovanni, nella costa centro occidentale della Sardegna, in provincia di Oristano.
Si tratta di un vero e proprio museo a cielo aperto che si affaccia sul mare, sormontato dall’imponente torre di San Giovanni.
Il sito archeologico è visitabile ed è un’occasione per immergersi nella millenaria storia di questo sito e dell’intera Sardegna.

The ancient city of Tharros represents one of the most evocative archaeological sites in the Mediterranean.
It is a Nuragic settlement dating back to the 8th century BC.
Over the centuries it was subsequently reused, rebuilt, adapted and expanded by the various civilizations that had control of it. After its foundation in the Nuragic period, it became a Phoenician emporium, then a Carthaginian fortress, a Roman urbs, a Byzantine capital and the capital of Arborea.
It is located at the southern end of the Sinis peninsula in the Cabras area, behind the beautiful San Giovanni beach, on the central western coast of Sardinia, in the province of Oristano.
It is a real open-air museum overlooking the sea, surmounted by the imposing tower of San Giovanni.
The archaeological site can be visited and is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the thousand-year history of this site and of the whole of Sardinia.
