This version is stunning, the slowed down version is so much more creepy than I expected. Colm's voice stood out to me most but that's the attractive purr thing... Thank you Doogs for this one, and thank you for being our DM...and just an extra LOVE for you

This was everything I expected it to be! Bass Central sounds like a band of nothing but basses, bass singer, bass guitars, bass drums, bass everything! So excited to get back into more dnd with you all, you guys are an awesome table!

I don't want no treble, sailor. Well, maybe a little treble, and some percussive beatbox...Oh, the heck with it, I'll have the usual.

I don't know about Bobby and Colm, but Jonathan hits those really rough bass tones using his false folds. He has a video with Bobby where they talk about their vocal methods. It's very interesting and educational (and super nerdy), you would love it!

Yep, it's the false fold version of subharmonics that Jonathan developed. My favourite song that includes that technique is the Centuries cover he did with the Bass Gang.

@TeahVickery Colm, I believe, employs some alternative technique like Jonathan does to hit the Bass Notes. Bobby, on the other hand, is a True Bass Singer so can just do it, no trickery required. All four members of The Bass Gang are all True Bass Singers. Think about that for a moment. Bobby is the True Bass of the trio we just saw and he hit the highest of the three bass notes we heard. He, intentionally, held way back to allow them to showcase. What Bobby hit was all Chest Voice, I think. If Bobby had actually employed his Bass Techniques, like his Sub-Harmonics, he would have blown both Jonathan and Colm out of the water. Also, compare the clarity of the three Bass Notes. Bobby's is the clearest note. And, again, that comes from him actually being a Bass Singer. Since he doesn't have to employ altering vocal techniques to hit his notes, what we hear from him isn't distorted, but pure, clear, Bass Resonance. Not taking anything away from Jonathan and Colm because what they can do is massively impressive, but Bobby is just in another class because he actually IS a Bass Singer. Hence his Stage Name: Bobby Bass. I mean Jonathan achieving Bass without being Bass by using his False Fold Technique is mind-blowing when you really think about it. And Colm... just what even IS he?

These three and a bunch of others have an amazing cover of Misty Mountains you have to check out. It’s incredible. You also need to do more kid the Bass Gang as well as the Wellermen, both of which Bobby is in. Santiana is probably my favorite of theirs but all their stuff is fantastic.

I believe those massive lows are called subharmonics, and I'm guessing it's that because I saw Geoff Castalluchi do how-to videos on it on his channel. Seriously, go get your daily shivers and goosebumps. A subharmonic is, in essence, when the singer relaxes their vocal cords to a point where they drop a full octave below the note they're singing. That's how I've understood it, anyway, but go ask Geoff's KZbin channel. He'll explain it.

I’m not entirely sure, because I’m no expert, but I’m leaning the vocal technique called subharmonics. And Bobby and Colm both sounded like they hit subharmonic notes which uses the false vocal cords.

jonathans deep end notes are from a technique he calls throat bass, he used it to do an insanely low note in his metal misty mountains cover and you lost it :)
