Wish I could do this race since I went to school at the U of I. Now I live in Arizona and I am training for my first marathon in Buckeye, AZ

Crossing the finish line in the football stadium is pretty cool, but it would probably be even more amazing for you since you went to U of I. Hopefully you can run it one day. Congrats on training for your first marathon!

I want to do peachtree one day. I did just do a trail race in Georgia about a month ago. my next race is a half marathon in Kansas City.

This will be my first time running the Peachtree Road Race. I spent most of my teenage years and my twenties living in Atlanta but wasn’t a runner at the time. Should be fun! I’ve been considering doing a trail race again soon. Good luck on your half!

Congrats on the PR, I did the half and those were tough conditions for sure. The humidity was my biggest complaint, but I'm sure 3 miles straight into a stiff wind late in the marathon felt worse. I'll probably be back for the full marathon next year, I trained for the full this year but got sick one week out and decided it would be best to drop down.

The humidity was awful, and I live in Atlanta where it’s pretty humid most of the time. Good of you to drop down after being sick and listen to your body. I’m still on the fence about next year, but it is such a fun marathon and I’m hoping more folks will run the full now that it’s back. I’d love to come back and see how much I can beat my time by.

@@betteryetjet I was registered for the full in 2022 but they cancelled it a few weeks out due to lack of police to cover the whole route. So considering that and the uncertainty about this year, I imagine it will be a few years still before the race gets back to the numbers it had pre-covid. But it really was a fun atmosphere, I was impressed by the number of people out cheering from the bottom of their driveways.

@@Sheriff_Lowbrow I remember last year running the half and seeing a sign someone was holding on their driveway that said something like “Hurry up! I can’t leave my house!” They were cheering us on and it was all in good fun, but I also love the support that everyone in that area gives runners.
