Enjoying following your Nightwish journey. This was song 14, right after Ghost Love Score, and right before the finale, Last Ride of the Day. It’s one of my favorites of theirs for sure, and you’re right, the more you listen to it, the better it gets. Time signature changes are common in most Nightwish songs. Looking forward to seeing more. Maybe either that finale or the opener, Dark Chest of Wonders, from this show next. Enjoy!

R.I.P Ann Waychoff mother of the Nightwish Army. June 28th, 2020 . Long may She Rule wherever her Soul rests now. NW Army Bavaria wabbling around. Nice you go along with NW, i bet many will give you the much better explained Clues, why the Song got more or less two Parts, and what Verses are spoken in the Studio Version after the Song itself and therefore the Sung Part got an Brake and Stylechange witch goes till the End. What i came across everytime i her This one or GLS- they all could be Multi Millionairs by now, if they only do 3 to 4 Albums in Storytime Style got themself an Big Publisher Contract, and bring Bon Jovi(which also does his Thing great since 78)to Tears in case of Billboard Numbers. Jap Nuclear Blast isnt small, and also very material orientated, but obviously let NW do wnat they want to. And thats it, they dont do Mass Music, they simply dont want to. That they can amass 70k ppl just with that not mainstreamed 4/4 and lyrics most need an Dictionary, thats where my Cudos cant be big enough. I were pretty sure, this one wont get you in Terms of the Song itself, you did apreciate the Artists, and claimed to have an deeper look into at the End, thats simply great. There are many Reacts which only say hey, dont get it, tell me in the comments what i just saw. Stay Healthy!

This is actually my favorite Nightwish song. When I first heard it, I didn’t get so wrapped up trying to understand the time signature as I was just being enthralled by how pleasing it all was to the ears. And I didn’t think the last section went on too long at all; it’s an important part of the story that was written to be told in the way that it was. It wasn’t an outro or ending to the song, but another piece of the story. Anyways, the more Nightwish you listen to, the more you’ll understand that the compositions aren’t ever going to be conventional. You’d have to not listen to them like you would a conventional song. The journey is going to be great.

BTW: Tuomas Holopainen has ALWAYS the story first... then he composes the music for the story... this is why, delving a bit deeper into the lyrics is really worth it... when it comes with Nightwish... And: I read this, so cannot take the credits of this opinion which I do happen to agree, about the line on the background screen where you stopped the video: "G and e minor" are parallel musical scales exactly the same pitches like two sides of one medal. Happiness and sadness are coexisting parts of our life Tuomas described this lyric as celebration of life with all it's beautiful and dark sides simultaneously."

R.I.P Ann Waychoff mother of the Nightwish Army. June 28th, 2020 This is your song. If you ever have to explain the Groove in Metal to someone - play this tune. Until the Breakdown hits you with a 10 ton hammer it is all fun and games. But then the slow chugging monster with the machine gun riffing takes over. And for every Metal Head this lights up the day. Awesome….Imho one of the best songs ever. Sometimes the sky is piano black…. Like many have said before me Nightwish is best enjoyed live, and pretty much anything you pick from their 3 most famous concerts at Wacken, Wembley and/or Tampere is 110% enjoyable... and if you want something more recent then the Buenos Aires concert is also top notch. Please do Nemo, Weak Fantasy, 7 Days To The Wolves, Shudder Before The Beautiful, Dead Boy's Poem, Yours Is An Empty Hope... gosh man the list goes on and on. But when you finally feel ready you can look into The Poet And The Pendulum and The Greatest Show On Earth, which together with Ghost Love Score are considered by some as Nightwish's Big Three. Enjoy the rest of your journey and buckle up, you're in for one hell of a ride!

You owe yourself to dig deeper into the lyrics. The stories Tuomas are telling are enhanced by the composing - it's working together. And Floor's interpretation of both music and lyrics, and her abilities to express everything... All together this is storytelling on another level - it's not just good music and excellent singing - this is deep stories / tellings, that you can feel, experience and relate to. They goes deep, if you let them in. Greetings from Nightwish Army Denmark 🇩🇰 👍 💪 🤘 🤘 🤘

IMO one of the most straightforward, hook songs by anyone I've ever heard, and you're saying it's "all over the place" and you don't have it figured out yet. I think your problem is that you're trying to figure it out by analyzing it with your brain. Wrong part, bro. This is a musical piece that you feel; like all Nightwish music, it's best to lose your mind to it, and analyze it with your soul. To each his own I guess. Good reaction; glad you're honest. Keep it up.

The spoken lyrics on the album at the end of the song are crew and band and it’s quite moving

You should know that this is not the complete song, there is a part 4 called Love, which you can hear only on a studio album Imaginaerum, and it makes the song more grander. The whole song is almost 14 mins long.

I think the second half felt like it was dragging because, as iconic as this concert is, the backing tracks throughout the whole thing are too low. Personally, I feel the orchestra carries a lot of the extended bridge. So without really being able to hear that and the choir, it kind of drags.

Yeah I agree! I think GLS could have been better if the orchestra track was louder too! If they had a live orchestra there too! Would have been absolutely unreal! 💯

Hi Skullz, i love to see your reaction videos of Nightwish. For me they are the best band in the world 😍 I also have another recommendation for you. If you like surprises, then try this masterpiece of our Dutch genius Arjen Anthony Lucassen with 11 awesome singers (I won't spoil who they are, but i think you will recognize some of them 😉): Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down. Here is the link to the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXfYfn6ap9-Dp7c You will be blown away by all the talented musicians and singers! You won't be dissappointed....I PROMISE! Hope to see your reaction to this masterpiece soon and for now....Greetings, stay safe and lots of love from The Netherlands, Martin

Pleeeeaaase, before you react to the Poet and the Pendulum: tell us beforehand so we can provide you with some important informations! Trust me, the impact this song will have on you will be so much different than without knowing the story behind it. Also, you should do a couple more songs before reacting to this one. Love your reactions 💕

NIGHTWISH AND MEGADETH?? 🔥 MARCO SINGING HEAVY SOLO? 🤘🏻 My suggestion is another cover of them, which we HARDLY see on KZbin.🇳🇱 And if you like a HEAVY Nightwish sound, this will be a very nice one! 🔥🤘🏻😎 Marco is singing solo on this one. Check out their cover of Megadeth, symphony of destruction. AND A HEAVY SIREN FLOOR & MARCO? The second also hardly on KZbin, is a heavy Siren, The Siren performed live of course by Floor Jansen, and also again a very good singing Marco🔥❤️🤘🏻 Enjoy it, and I with you!

And There, Forever Remains That Change From G To E minor.....

I read this, so cannot take the credits of this opinion which I do happen to agree: "G and e minor" are parallel musical scales exactly the same pitches like two sides of one medal. Happiness and sadness are coexisting parts of our life Tuomas described this lyric as celebration of life with all it's beautiful and dark sides simultaneously."

Midwest Division. Great Lakes Battalion of the Nightwish Army checking in from Straits of Mackinac / Mackinac Island, Lake Huron, USA. I've been WAITING for you to get to this one!!! As far as other concerts don't worry, have patience, we'll get to those as well...j/k !!! Feel free to bounce around on that list. It's really more of a guide, not something that definitely needs to be done in chronological order. There are only a couple of songs that you may want to pump the brakes on, those being "The Poet And The Pendulum" (Wembley) and "The Greatest Show On Earth" (Tampere). In order to receive the maximum emotional experience for those two, you might want to look into the background first. Again, not a strict requirement more of a stentorian suggestion. I would also suggest a video with captions, they are available for both. As far as bouncing away from Wacken for a few...I would suggest 7 Days To The Wolves (Live at Wembley Arena)...or for a Marko showcase, a tribute to Pink Floyd's "High Hopes" from the End of an Era concert.
