That Englishman in Texas quickly turning into a global ambassador for the Lone Star State

For those of us who have been in Texas for a while, there are everyday things that we might consider mundane that newcomers find fascinating.
Oli Pettigrew refers to himself as That Englishman in Texas.
He moved to Central Texas full-time a year-and-a-half ago and is making a career out of musing on these things.

I’ve lived in Texas my entire 68 years and have also been Blessed to travel to many other countries (outside USA). We spent a week in London in 2011. Big differences!!! HUGE DIFFERENCES!!! Love Both places!!! GOD is GOOD EVERYWHERE, ALL the time!!! ❤️‍🔥🙏🙏🙏❤️‍🔥

Dude, you found HEB!!! I love that place, my son almost refused to leave the state because where he was asked to move didn’t have an HEB grocery store. (Laughing now - he moved back!) Texas is unique.

Seems like a cool guy, this media outlet really mislead me the guy seems to have a very little social media presence across all platforms. So I doubt he's getting anyone hundred of thousands of views. But hope he makes it there someday.

You do know that Hong Kong belonged to England the time he was born. Just as our John McCain (presidential candidate in 2008) was born in Panama.

Just like @loeq3370 said, if you are born on a military base for a foreign nation you are a citizen of your parents home countries. Like say you were 8 months pregnant on a vacation in another country, had an early pregnancy, does that foreign government give citizenship to that child? no. Could they appeal it later in life, sure. But foreign bases/embassies/ gov facilities. are honorary sanctuaries for those people.

@@TrunkyDunks depends. Every child born in france is french citizen. Even if you are just passing in transit or on vacation. You can change it to american or whatever later. But at first, your child will have a french nationality/citizenship

The guy is definitely embracing the spirit and enjoying it too. I've met less Texan Texans than this guy for sure. I say we accept the ones on his caliber. It's behavior we want to encourage, ya know?
