Oh Amanda, what I wouldn’t give to be in your shoes right now and only worried about where to go camping for a few days(not to mention you’re in beautifully amazing Colorado)… as I sit here awaiting an appointment on Monday to find out if I have ovarian cancer… I’m NOT being sarcastic in ANY WAY when I say that, i have lived vicariously thru u for a couple years now and will continue to until the day my bf and I hit the road FT! I was in a similar situation trying to find good weather in that part of the country the last few weeks. I ended up getting a free campsite with electricity by volunteering at a state park just so I can run my air conditioning through these summer months. This heat is no joke!

Well, the positives of your situation: there are certainly worse places in the world to be stuck than Colorado, so there's that. I love that you are so worried about your friends and their hardships, which makes you an incredible friend. I know you don't want advice, so I won't give you any, other than to follow your heart. Meditate, contemplate, and seek out all the information you can to make a decision. Trust your gut. It's really as simple as that.

As someone who hates the heat (sitting here in Eastern KS where it's really heating up for the next 5 days), I'd be looking at higher elevations and getting into the forest near a mountain stream. But that's just me!

Go to Eagle Nest, NM, area. National Forest roads are still in high elevation and it is much cooler there. Highs this week there in high 70s.

I was in that heat episode, 200 miles west of Durango. At one point I was putting a wet rag on my head and chest. But the area was so beautiful that I found myself ignoring the heat, except for a strong focus on hydration. Van life! While hiking I followed one young fellow back to the parking lot who was having a dehydration episode, and I had just finished off the last of my water. He made it OK and his parents had water and Gatorade in their truck. The rest of my trip I drank lots of water even if the taste was a little sulfur-y.

You've got a wonderful life. Go enjoy yourself in Creede. Learn more about the town. Go there. Take a deep breath and know that you're supposed to have this time to do this. Go to Creede, meet the people and explore the area. Who knows? The universe may have something unique planned for you. What happened as you should know as a beautiful adult woman in her mid-30s life happened. So don't hesitate use your own desire to satisfy the things you want to do because you know you won't be back up there in Colorado for well maybe till next year or more. So consider the universe is speaking to you to enjoy the last 8 days of your time in the manner that you yourself and Wynston will enjoy. ☮️💜

Oh wow, it's unbelievable how many of us are having issues with our vehicles and other distractions right now ... and in this heat. Listen to your instincts my dear and perhaps stay where it's cooler for a bit. ... our plans can always change in a snap, and that's ok too. ( Do some Centering and Earthing ) and stay hydrated. Everything will fall into place 👍

Seems logical if you were planning to drive 5 hr to Greer, going to Creede, which is 4 hr away round trip, makes a lot of sense. Whatever you do, I know you'll have a good time. I live in Grand Junction if you get over this way. It's hot in the valley, but you can camp on the Grand Mesa or Glade Park and it's cooler in both those places. I also camp in my van 2017 Dodge Caravan just like yours. Anyhoo...if you need anything I'm in Grand Junction.

Remember Amanda in case you've sort of forgot, everything and I mean everything happens for a reason. We may not know what it is there is something in the universe that is guiding you believe in it and trust in it even if you don't like it. There's a reason. Be smart and go to Creede. When will you possibly be back there again soon? No, you will regret not going there you have these wonderful last few days of your trip and you need to spend them wisely in terms of experience and not necessarily money you are a very thrifty person, go to Creede.
