For him to say that black people/Caribbeans should be paying Britain money for the better conditions they’re living in is disgusting and to see so many people in the comments agree with this statement is very disheartening. You and your family have been paying reparations for a long time. Slave owners were paid by the British people. According to the Treasury until 2015 British people were paying for the money given to the slave owners. The slaves got nothing. Much of the money that went to the slave owners was money raised in taxes on the children and descendants of the slaves. So, not only were your family paying, but the children of slaves, and their descendants, were paying slave owners. By the way, it was the slaves themselves who first pushed for the abolition of slavery. Enough of this British saviour nonsense.

The descendants of Slave owners were in a position to benefit from the taxes of the British people given in "reparation" for the ending of slavery. The final bill was not paid until 2015. If anyone paid taxes in Britain up to that time they were paying the slave owners. The slaves got nothing. The principle of reparation has been established, but the slaves and their descendants continued to suffer while your money went to slave owners.

What was Britain without Slavery, exploitation and colonisation? The covid lockdown is a case on point. I keep on hearing the usual drivel "they're taking our jobs and benefits" so during Covid many of these people who they do not want here, either returned home or actually died. So the local farmers needed local labour for the jobs that these people accused others of taking. And what happened? None of them did not even know how to pick a strawberry or cucumber or broccoli and guess what? they left the job because they could or would not do it. In the end, the strawberries and other food ended up rotting in the fields.
