I second this question. Interference at the T, ball quite far but easily retrievable, seems like a let to me, but it was upheld by the video ref, so I must be missing something

The only reason I can think of is Solimen backed into Croiun’s line to the ball. The controversy to this issue is Solimen was just trying to get back to the t, he didn’t know where Croiun was.

I think that stroke was awarded for the whole rally, where Soliman did a bit of blocking few times. The last ball was definitely not a stroke, maybe a let.

I often don't understand interference calls haha but I'm thinking it must be because Soliman not only was in Crouin's way but seemed to actively resist Crouin getting past him.

To me that is a definite let. Croiuns racket wasn´t even up, that is a let 100%

To make it clear, if you are away from the T you have to give direct access to the ball. In this case Soliman was unable to do that and in my eyes he was blocking Crouins way on purpose. Strict stroke but if this happened before and got warned for it (i have no idea) then the stroke shouldnt be harsh at all

you have to give direct access to the ball regardless of where you are. Otherwise you could just hit the ball to the front of the T and then move to T and block your opponent and win every point because blocking would be legal not away from the T

I am new in Squash. Is it allowed to „shovel „ the Ball or has it to be only one short touch with the Ball?

No, that's called a "carry", "scoop" or in extreme cases a "double hit". However, it can be very hard to tell when it happens, especially if the racket catches against the side wall also, which changes the expected smooth motion of the swing.

Stroke? And upheld??? This is self-inflicted interference by playing bad shot, therefore Crouin needs to go around. Also STROKE is awarded should the return have been a winning shot, which is hard to achieve from the back corner.

For me would be a let. Ball is easy to pick , Soliman is far from it... but for pros i suppose it's stroke because soliman didn't let Crouin the access to the ball.

I think this is them trying to phase lets out of the game. Feel like he was in the way of getting to the ball and not the shot so obvious let by that logic. Not sure why we can’t keep lets around for interference like that

You still have to provide your opponent with direct access to the ball once you've finished your swing, no matter how bad their shot was. And strokes don't require a potential winning shot. Those are both common misunderstandings. This would be Rule 8.6.5: "if the striker would have been able to make a good return but the opponent was not making every effort to avoid the interference, a stroke is awarded to the striker." The refs both thought Soliman should have known Crouin was going to take the line in front of him, and didn't make a good enough effort to give Crouin that line.

Two things i learned again from this match, the PSA is unwilling to have "professional" referees in PSA tournaments and second, Crouin is not that "Nice Guy" he pretends. If you look the complete match, not the highlights, it was a big bunch of scandalous decisions mostly against Soliman, and Mr."Nice Guy" is behaving like Marvan at its best. There are a lot of good, not so popular referees, but the PSA sticks to Mrs. Santa Maria and Mr. Rory Gingell. Its a time waste to watch matches refereed by one of them.
