The intro chord progression to the song The Top Half Of The Everglades by the band Races To April. The album is The Syntax in Everything from 2004. A relatively small band that I somehow discovered on MySpace back in the day. I bought their album online from the states and remember receiving it in England along with a lovely hand written note. Still have the CD (lost the note unfortunately) till this day 😁. Go check them out. It's a wonderful record.

Lovely work as always! Would it be possible for you to do a video exploring a specific alternate tuning? It's EABEBE, i think the only band i've seen using it was Jars of Clay back when they were starting out in the 90's. It's a very nice, resonant and rich sounding tuning with a lot of easy to play chords that sound great!

Hi Steve, hope you are doing well. First off, thank you for introducing me to this band. They're very cool. The singer reminds me of Chris from Propagandhi at his most squeaky. As always when watching one of your tutorials I at first question your chord names (then think about it and conclude you're correct). Today, I'm wavering. I am hearing the progression more as a string of D#m7 chords (D#m7, D#m7/C#(no root), D#m11/G#(no root), D#m7/Bb(no root)). I concede that there's a strong argument that it concludes on a B, but equally that could be D#m7/B(no root) with the B being the b6 of the D# minor tonality. If you have time, I would love to hear your take on it. Do you view them as sus chords to represent the F# C# pedal throughout the progression?

Great Video as always Steve, one small request though, when showing the chord diagrams, would it be possible to colour code which finger you use for the individual shapes? I.e. red for index, blue for middle, green for ring and yellow for the pinky
@cdwizzerd2 жыл бұрын
any advice for people like myself who want to learn these songs, but only have 3 working fingers? i smashed my hand badly as a child, & my pinkie is basically only for show…..
