We all have a unique story to tell, but some themes are universal. That Moment.... you realize your parents are only human. That Moment... you know your relationship needs to end. We talked with individuals who each have a story to tell about "that moment..."
Breakups are difficult to navigate, especially when you remain friends with your ex. Bryan shares his experience in rejoining the dating world while trying to be happy for his ex’s new relationship.

So many people prefer to be friends with their exes after their break up. I think that is the most stupid idea. After break up when they start dating someone else and when you see them together, when she/he talks about her/his lover with you, the pain gets amplified. It really does. Just be friends with them if you want after 2 or 3 years when it actually gets over. Otherwise you are hurting yourself by doing that honestly.

Yes, 100% true, You can’t just turn off your feelings , especially if you were the one who was dumped, so it's better to walk away. Btw are you from Nepal? the tika on your forehead is suggesting so. I'm nepali too :)

I'd say don't regret the moments you had. Because at one time that's what you needed or wanted. You'll grow from it and the experience will only make you wiser. you'll know what to look for or take a breath

I don't think exes can be friends right away after being seperated. I think both of them should take time to fill the hurt by working on it themselves. They should have their own journey, they should grow upon themselves. And that way, if they stumble upon each other after a period of time, they will have stories to tell which are more exciting than the stories of their separation. That in my opinion, will be the beginning of an ideal friendship. 😃

Here’s the way forward: Allow yourself to be angry or even hate, if need be. Allow yourself to cry. Do something that helps you feel better about yourself. Don’t be in the friend zone hoping she’ll come back. Sever all ties if you don’t have children, and delete all the photos, videos and SoMe traces. Spend time with a good friend who doesn’t ask and doesn’t push. That could take you through a major love crisis in as little as 6 months.

I will never ever keep in touch with any ex, no matter how great of a person they are; unless, we have kids together. I was happy before you, and I'll be happy after you. I accept things for what they are, and let go of negative feelings. I see it like this "We had what we had, and it was what it was, now, it's time to move on".

lol my ex went through 2 relations in 3 years after us. I on the other hand had a blast 😂😂..they key is to cut off totally even if u are hurting everyday. hurting will eventually stop but seeing him with other people will get u down no matter how secure u are in yourself.best decision of my life was to say no to being friends with him.

When we became friends after, I comforted him, he has disrespect me and made me a fool, rejected me in public made me his secret lover, I want to to forgive .... Yes I will In Jesus name

I have had good & bad experiences keeping in touch with exes. One went into the the military, another law enforcement & I know it takes something special (which I lacked) to be with someone in those professions. They both are wonderful people, have since married & had kids, I would not undo the lives they've made for themselves. I attended the wedding of one, a couple b'days & baby shower for another. Still email occasionally with both & visit with them & their families when I travel. My bad experiences were with people who were using the friend card to maintain proximity. After I found out each was harassing other potential suitors I cut ties. Both created periods in my life where I thought no one else would be interested in me, telling others we were still together so that (a) far fewer people would engage with me & (b) I got a reputation of being a negligent, cheating partner when I spent time with others or attended social functions without them. The first one to do so was finally called out, in front of myself & friends, by someone I started dating: "THEY are telling everyone you two are a couple. YOU say you're unattached. Are they a liar or are you a cheater?" Cleared that up, but apparently it had been happening for some time, costing me personal & professional opportunities. I learned from that, so the next time I saw certain patterns, I made a point of introducing a date to them in front of others and, having called their bluff, that game ended. I've also been stuck in the middle of a new date with an old flame. The ex mysteriously either showed up or was "coincidentally" having a crisis during our dates. Eventually I was like if you want to be with them, go for it. I got accused of being insecure & unreasonable. A year later I got an apology via social media. Apparently the ex had been proactively running off "the competition" - didn't really want to get back together, but liked the attention & didn't want to give that up either. I knew I wasn't crazy (in that particular case, anyway) but it was nice to hear, and I'm glad that situation was resolved. I guess it all boils down to motive & maturity. If both parties still care for each other as people & can grasp the concept of a platonic relationship, staying in touch can be nice.

We should always keep in mind that the best feeling ever, is to forgive and to let go of your anger and insecurities because if we truly love someone we should understand and respect their decisions even if it means that it would probably hurt us, but that's the real meaning of love and sacrifice!

From my experience, cutting them off is hard but neccessary for you to heal. I tried being his friend for 8 months and I felt miserable because I still had feelings for him while he was happily dating new girls. Its definitely painful to make the decision and lose the connection you two shared, but I would have never really moved on if I hadn´t done this.

Yeah I handled my heartbreak through hypnosis, looking at this video how this woman calm me down saying, "I forgive myself, I forgive that person, I forgive" it works. I've been in the low that it actually suffocated me. Then there's this rush of wind that overflow from within and I know, that the negative feeling has gone. I start to accept that we broke up and how she found someone new. I accept that. I still talk to her to this day. Even though I don't necessarily know how their relationship going on, all I can say is I'm happy for you. I really do and I hope one day, you have the courage to let me go, just like i did. Not just being "friends".

That guys teeth are awesome. So perfect it's difficult to hear him relate such an intense relationship issue. It's like how can a guy with so much precise order and continuity get down on himself. My mouth is the total opposite of his so I can see why I have issues and disorder. It's a good lesson in not judging a book by its cover. Listen to what he says. Do not be distracted by the outward appearance of order.

Sounds like a BS story to me. One of those made up folk tales meant to teach a lesson. I wouldn't have minded so much if you would have just told it for what it was--a moral tale, but when you try to pass it off as fact, you lose all credibility.
