It's good to hear this again. I hope Luke is still kickin' over the traces. Haven't seen him since the Sheriff's Rodeo in Santa Fe (1998?). We performed poetry for an appreciative crowd, and we were on opposing teams in the pack horse race-- Luke and the Sheriff and me and the Deputy. Me and the sheriff's deputy won, but Luke wrote it up for the local paper: "Luke Dudley and the Sheriff came in second, and Jeff Streeby and the deputy came in next-to-last."

I have had the pleasure of knowing Claude "Luke" for better than 40 years now. I drank Whiskey with him many times, and ate sausage cooked on his Cowboy "Wok" out in the middle of a pasture after dove hunting. There is only One(1) Claude "Luke" Dudley, the one-eyed Coyote. I've always had respect for Claude, because, "He has done it, his Way!"
