Ironically a lot of pokemon cards go for well around 10$ to even past 50$. It's purely rng and how many were printed. [Usually more expensive cards are printed less then Commons or uncommons). Mtg is same way

Is it a meta or staple card? Is there abnormal demand for it? What condition is the card in? Card values fluctuate all the time for Pokemon aside from the first generation sets (ie the iconic, rare cards). $10 to $50 was generally considered good for Pokemon, but ever since the KZbinr craze for Pokemon cards, abnormal demand has driven values way up
