Sampaoli uses Pau Lopez the way it's talked in the beginning. He plays inbetween the 2 CBs, like 25 yards from his goal. It's frightening, but it frees up the fullbacks without having less midfielders. So Marseille plays 5-5-1 He does that a lot less with Mandanda (not sure why, or maybe it's just that he decided to drop that way of doing, and it's a coincidence that it happened around the time Mandanda came back)

You've spelt it correctly. It's an old podcast story, essentially "parched" was a nick name for a Stoke City player who was the biggest teacher's pet with the manager. I think it was Charlie Adam if I recall correctly. So in this case, Odegaard is the parched of Arsenal since he goes out of his way to speak Spanish to Arteta and essentially beg it
