I just bought some Lithops and the grower said that as summer is coming and they go dormant during summer I shouldn't water them much. I just misted them and got them in lightly moist soil. Their roots were paper dry. What do you think?

That lithops really is interesting. I can’t blame you for getting excited, coz I got excited watching it, too. I also noticed that your succulents just grow variegated without you doing anything, therefore it’s natural for them to become variegated for some reason or another. Maybe, just came to my mind, one of these days, you will discover a new succulent plant growing in one of those pots because they are placed so closed together that when they flower, they cross pollinate , thereby creating a new plant. Thanks for your enjoyable video. Your enthusiasm is contagious! BTW my first time to see you up close, thank you for that. You exudes joy, generosity, passion and now beauty! Thank you for sharing them! And oh, thanks for sharing your love of coffee. I’m a coffee addict!😊😍❤️

Liz beautiful plants as always! I just love when you let us tour your garden :) Mealy bugs. Ugh. So I agree with you, isopropyl alcohol does not work on mealies. I will have to go back to your mealy bug video and check what it is that you use again and if I can buy it here in the US. In the meantime, I think I shall try physical extractions next time I see one of those monsters. I'm pretty sure I just lost my sedeveria royal flush mother plant. Well, I beheaded it so will probably get babies, but the head has mealies that I just can't get rid of. Ok, done venting :) Oh and the baby lithops! What a cutie

Hi Liz. I enjoy going through your older vlogs and learning. I too have ants in some of my pots. I soaked in the seaweed water and they go crazy trying to get out. Would this be indication of mealy bugs in the roots? Thank you for your input. Hope hubby is doing well.

Liz what do you think of cutting bloom stalks off? Does it help to cut them off before or after blooming?
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
If you're gathering seeds, wait till seed pod form or let it dry. If you're after leaf propagation from stalk, cut anytime and harvest leaves. Supposed to do video of that today but was too windy here. When it comes to cultivars with prolific stalk grower like Fantastic Fountain(not so fantastic)....LOL... I tend to break them off when they just emerging so as not to ruin the mommy plants figure.

You have a such amazing collection, especially echeveria. I really wish i could have the same too. But unfortunately the succulent in my area (Miri, Sarawak) is quite limited ( not much of variety). Also i was amaze that you can remember/recognize them by their specific name. Here in my area, some seller only know what are they without knowing the specific names. They (seller/nursery) sell them without any tag, and when i asked, they just give me the general name. Now before i buy any succulent i must atleast watch your channel or other channel to make it easy for me to recognize the succulent that i bought.
@GrowingSucculentswithLizK3 жыл бұрын
That's why I pay extra for plants with names until I find out that that seller is pulling names from the air and I don't buy from them anymore.
