Thank you for sharing this conversation! I think on some level we are different around the different people in our lives, but I agree you shouldn't "lose" yourself in a relationship. And there's a difference between working on the relationship together and feeling like you're the only one who is trying to make it work, and you come to a point where you decide if what you're doing is actually working or if it's time to let go. Not an easy place to be in at all.
