This video really shows how Carlsen's famous grinding endgame technique. Needless to say he anticipated the a pawn being lost in advance, and translated that advantage into a king activity advantage. As Kasparov says, Magnus has the same talent as Karpov: "minimum resources always produce maximum effect".

One of Magnus’s most underrated yet strongest abilities is his relentlessness. He’s always trying to win, long after many players even many grandmasters have become complacent, Magnus ist still screaming, trying to find any possible placement of pieces in order to win. 🤔🤯😮‍💨

Side note: Magnus adjusts his pieces after his clock has been started. To me, this seems like the polite thing to do, tbh. His opponent has been sitting there politely waiting for him to arrive. It would be kinda douchey to show up as the game is supposed to be starting and then go "let me just stretch out, adjust my pieces, really get settled in. You can just wait on me some more." Doing it on the clock seems like he respects his opponent's time.
