Commentary without messing with the board position is so much better. Very professional and doesn't take away from the actual game being played.

Disagree. I actually muted it at around 3mins in. It's so annoying and its like a commentary for low rated chess players. EDIT :: I dont care enough to reply to the angry bot army. It's just my opinion geez.

As Magnus gently pressed the clock, the way Tsydypov knocked the clock, he himself could sense that his end was near.There is a lot of pressure in chess.

Love the commentary - chessbase india has been producing some great content as of late. On some videos however they neglect to put the 2D board on the video for some reason, which I find lazy, but this is an example of a great video. Thanks again.

I love the commentary. It talked about the ideas involved so at least I could understand the motivations behind the moves. lot of top level commentators just throw tons of lines that are not as useful for players of most levels.

@@alreadydead00 Oooooh, i dont know! Deep Blue was pretty strong. You have to be razor sharp to take on a machine like that, since machines dont make tactical errors. The only way is to outplay it positionally.. and that's not easy. But yeh, to be totally honest, id put my money on Carlsen ;)

Incredible to watch Magnus and other top tier, elite players arrange their pieces at the end of a match, and then you have Niemann refusing to arrange his pieces every time he loses

Most chess sets will come with an extra queen for each side. That way, it's possible to promote a pawn and have two queens on the board.

That c pawn would have been devastating, and Tsydypov had one second on the clock. Also, the f7 pawn was about to fall. Good commentary, when blitz calls for rapid-fire commentary.

The piece beside the board is a spare queen. The positioning of the kings in the centre indicate who won the game.

i feel like time is so important. my guess is that the biggest mistake is trading the dark square bishop. black should have held onto it, as the white castled onto a dark square as well as it was also good for defense.

When magnus takes the pawn on f4 with the knight why would black not move his bishop from g7 to d4 on an open square to attack the king is there something magnus could do other than move his king to h1 and have him trapped in the corner or am I missing something but great commentary nonetheless
