YDKMO He talks about the facts...there are 7 million high school athletes in the US, yet only 140,000 (or 2%) will be heavily recruited and receive athletic scholarships. Believe it or not, this stat is still true today (six years later)!

Some parents spend $10 grand a year on their kids soccer, to reach for a scholarship which will pay for college. So the scholarship could be worth say $20-40k per year. But only 2% chance to get the scholarship
