To be fair the falcon only failed twice in the second film. The third time the light speed was intentionally disabled to prevent escape. Otherwise it functions well.

Technically the Sayans' pods are meant to be shock vehicles, they crash land to create chaos and confusion so that the troops can exit them safely.Also, inertia dampers FTW

Well.. Voltron technically was sentient, so I'm not sure it should be on list.. Also Beast King GoLion from 81 and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV from 82 not only wasn't one of first Super Robot shows, but in fact was one of last remains of dying genre. For reminder Mobile Suit Gundam come out in 79 creating Real Robo genre and Armored Trooper Votoms come out in 83, and machines from that show are so realistic thet they do exist (look Kuratas). Anyway, formally first Super Robo show Matzinegr Z come out in 72 and first combiner Getter Robo in 74 what also was one of few combiners what did have a sense. Voltron was one of first shows of that kind what come out in the States in 84, what is the reason why it is so popular despite lackluster quality (same Gundam Wing what was frost Gundam in States what come out in 95). Until that point only Real Robo shows released in states were Robotech form 86, what were buttered adaptation of three far better shows including famous Macross. That is one of the reason why many people in 90's believed that so called "American Mecha" like Mechwarrior series, is more realistic despite fact that it in fact they stay far behind what already was made in Japan. But it wasn't until Neo Genesis Evangelion (what alongside Akira are far overrated) when America get one of first uncensored anime and this bubble burst.

I mostly disagree with the top 5 worst list The Millenium Falcon's hyper drive was broken and later disabled in Empire Strikes Back. *Every vehicle has malfunctions sometimes.* And i can't stand with the "it didn't work more often than not" line either. In "A New Hope", "Return of The Jedi" and "The Force Awakens" it worked just fine. Labeling it bad because it had engine troubles in one movie is unfair. Wild Wild West may have been a bad movie, but the giant steampunk spider was not bad. It was silly, but not bad. It was actually kind a creative. Same with the train-time machine. By the way, you broke rule Nr. 2 "Looks don't matter" So it shouldn't matter that it looked stupid.

Agree. Falcon was in fact great ship! Yes, it was hunk of junk with broken engine during OT but it wasn't the fault of design, just the old age. This same WWW spider and Time-Train meant to be ridiculous (and speaking of Saiyan capsules cool, which they definitely were), but those aren't comparable to seriously flawed or over-designed trash. Like for example Dreadnought form Star Trek Into the Darkness what otherwise was great movie, but the joke is that Federation Dreadnought projects were flap even in the TOS (because there was such thing). Both Federation class and Dreadnought class suffer on the same issue. Star Trek ships were limited by they reactor size what grown only through time what is the reason why average ship from future are way larger then old designs, even despite same main class. Star Fleet generally already did use oversize explorer ship design in order to go around prohibition of military ship used by old Federation (generally it was so big that minimal weapon coverage was equal to military ships) what ironically over time prove to have some advantages outside the huge price. That is the reason why Defiant was so cool as it was first purely militaristic Federation starship and generally he has power comparable to cruiser despite being half the size (that was also how non-Federation ships were usually designed). Anyway Star Trek Dreadnoughts until were designed by technologically more advanced races simply suck. They constantly lack power and were clunky. Generally it was almost either shoot or move scenario, so probably any ship with comparable reactor would take it out (Khan probably was aware of flaws but he didn't really cared until he could protect own people pretending that he work for Section 31). Also its previous more rational version Federation class was center of huge diplomatic affair, just in this alternative reality project was hold in secret for longer after humanity was surprised by ship from future.

Colonial Raptor - a SHITLOAD of sensors, countermeasures, a shitload of ECM, FTL capability, can carry 8 fully loaded marines into battle, it can be outfitted with heavy weapons - it's a fooken badass ship ! The Rocinante / MCRN Corvette - this little bugger can do anything ! The med bay is a hospital in itself !

Headcanon: Han Solo employed the help of Mr. Meeseeks to get the Falcon to do the Kessel run in even less than 12 parsecs. The blue engineer was in over his head and reasoned he could fullfill the reuqest by making the Falcon due the run in no parsecs.
