I actually liked this movie. It was fun, action-packed, and I really didn't mind all the death. That jet vs missiles was pretty bullshit, I'll admit.

Yo, Joe! This is my first post here on your channel and so far, so good. I liked this movie only because I've been a Joe fan since it first hit the shelves. I like military themed products and technology. It's by far not one of my favorite movies, but I still liked it. Like the sequel, it has flaws. One in particular the the stupid 90's movie rule that EVERY movie must have a white male, a female, and a black male (ALL three) as main stars. But, not ALL movies follow this rule. New Jack City, Purple Rain, and many more for example. What on earth did the director created a fictional black version of Ripcord... I guess they wanted that character but couldn't find a native American Indian actor to play the part. Similar to the reason of casting Michael Dunkin Clark (my bad if I misspelled that actor's name) as the drug lord Kingpin in Daredevil. As to why not Stalker (a much better choice of a popular African American Joe character, well they're just idiots. But, the still HAVE to have a black male in any modern age movie. Thank God foreign movie don't have to follow THAT rule.

Really? Damn that was one of the few things I liked because Flint was one of my favorite characters and at least having him on cameo was cool. But nope, leave it to the people that gave us the Bayformers to completely screw up a golden opportunity. Also I probably haven't seen G.I. Joe Xtreme since it aired, even with all the 90s coolness tropes for some reason I remember liking it.

This review was mostly spot-on. The one thing i will say is that Snake Eyes costume (and mouth) is accurate to the first Snake Eyes action figure. The action figure you showed in the video was the second version that removed the visible mouth. For the second movie, they altered the costume to match the second action figure. Using both designs was pretty cool, and accurate to the toy evolution. Still, both movies were awful, with the second one a little less terrible.

GI JOE Retaliation was actually pretty good. Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow actually had a good plot, The Rock actually gave a pretty solid performance (he is just a fun guy who makes fun movies), Jonathan Pryce was given fantastic material as Zartan/President and was very entertaining, the action scenes were exciting, the special effects were good, and this time it actually felt like we were seeing Cobra brought to life. Yes, the movie did have a few things that fans did not want, such as killing Duke and Destro, though in the land of fiction I am sure that they could be brought back again. I mean, if The Doctor could survive that explosion... i did not like Cobra Commander's voice, too hard to understand. Badically, the movie had a dilemma because many hated The Rise of Cobra. Duke was heavily criticized for Tatum's performance, so he is killed off, except that suddenly Tatum became a big star and they tried giving him more screen time. They really didn't know what to do with the ridiculous cartoon face of Destro thar was left, so they left him behind for the time being (in that tank and suit, he could easily have survived the explosion). They rightfully ditched some plot from the first film such as all of the bad backstory crap between Baroness, her brother, and Duke. The director was actually a fan and tried to give us an actual GI JOE film rather that a hard to recognize sci-fi movie that went out of the way to crap on everything people live about GI JOE to start with. Retaliation was a pretty good, solid film overall.

Brendan Frasier is supposed to be Sergeant Stone, who was in extreme and sigma-6, but not related to them either. And good question here, why couldn't one of their trainers, while being old and out of shape, be Sgt. Slaughter? Also funny how Joseph Gordon-Levitt when he is The Doctor, kinda looks like a small Keanu Reeves.

I find it good that they put death into this movie. Suspension of Disbelief was very high in the show when nobody died with shots and explosions everywhere. GI JOE are soldiers, not Batman. They are allowed to kill.
