An event from a decade ago is considered recent news? While I appreciate your broad veiw of recent events to have a wider historical perspective I would kindly disagree. The wider general audience would not consider 10 year old events to be in the realm of "fresh" news. Also, yes, this type of content is typical of this channels material and I look forward to seeing it. Even if it just retreads old ground, I'm always down for more Sunny coverage especially if it might bring new people to the show.

I think there was an interviewer who asked “which version did your wife enjoy?” “When I was fat. Seriously the strict diet I had to make me look “fit” made me miserable and I was so much happier and more tolerable when I was fat.” Which I love. That interviewer wanted to make a joke about how his wife would have been more attracted to him when he was shredded and he said his wife more attracted to him when he was happy.

He may talk now about how his wife loved him being happy, but it's not as if his wife went out and married a happy person. Another thing about the "superhero" body type is that in order for those guys to look that shredded they have to dehydrate themselves to within hours of organ failure right before shooting their shirtless scenes, and they have to push themselves even harder because they've literally got no water in their tissues, just so they can look as ripped as possible for ten seconds on screen. The body dysmorphia that men feel is every bit as real as womens' because of that, which is why I have mad respect for guys like McElhenney and Kumail Nanjiani who are down to earth about how ridiculously difficult it is to get and maintain that kind of physique, and who freely admit there's no way they could do it without the resources at their disposal. It's really just more Hollywood smoke and mirrors, but this time it's with actual human beings' physical health.

There was a iasip marathon the past few days on Twitch and it made me realize just how good it was. From start to finish there is always people messaging "this episode" or "is this the episode where Charlie does this?" . Every episode has such a memorable scene or plot line all the way back from season 1 that people would still remember bits of it after all these years

I've not watched much IASIP, but I had heard it was very funny. So I randomly caught an old rerun and decided to watch it. The episode was "The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby". There's no euphemism. That's exactly how the episode starts. Partway in somebody asks the kids name and they realize they hadn't given him one so they quickly dub him D.B. It only gets more inappropriate from there. It's one of the funniest single episodes of television I've ever seen. Ive seen a few other episodes here and there but I really need to sit down and watch through the series.

"The gang turns black" is 100% my favourite episode. Also love "the gang solves the bathroom issue" because it shows more of the main casts neoliberalism where they like to act like allies but end up being morons. Also it is nice to see how far the cast has gotten from the first episodes with Carmen. "Mac finds his pride" on the other hand is an episode that i love because the end never fails to make me cry.

Interesting to find out he did it on purpose for a laugh, because I assumed that maybe he put on some sympathy weight after the birth of his child, or something like that. What’s interesting is that if anything, you would’ve expected that Olsen would’ve put on some weight during her pregnancy, and she would’ve returned the following season with a couple of extra pounds on her-and it was Mac that had ballooned up a bit. If she had put on any weight, it was either went completely unnoticed because she’s maintained her appearance their entire run, or Mac was just so jarringly fat that it distracted anyone from noticing. That said, I recently binged every episode up until the current season, and I’m in a position where I’m waiting for a few more to bank up again, and when I was watching that season I was quite shocked by his appearance, and I was even more surprised when he dropped it all the following season, and got into even better shape than he was before he cultivated all that mass. That single season aside, the gang have all maintained their appearances to an impressive degree, that the only changes you see over time are the subtle appearance of crows feet and other signs of aging. The good news is that if you’re not up to date with the show, the beginning episodes of the current season are still as good as ever. They’ve also managed to throw in some topical content regarding the pandemic and the 2020 election. Prior seasons managed to avoid dating themselves for the most part, by avoiding that sort of thing, but I think it would’ve been weirder if they hadn’t acknowledged the pandemic or the 2020 election, because the two were so intertwined that if you acknowledge either of those it shows that those characters are living in our timeline, and you almost can’t separate the two.
