Saying what wasn't said in the anime: When Rimuru named the ogres, they acquired skills from him, Souei, got the clones, shadow movement, tough communication, steel threads (I think that's all). Every kijin got skills that fit in they're areas of expertise.

Gabiru did not actually lie to his father. He actually was able to recruit 7k goblins. It was staited in the previous episode. Gabiru thought that going on the offensive could allow them to win as just defending will make them eventually run out of resources and the will to fight but in the end his ignorance led to his defeat.

Gabiru isn't stupid, actually. He's just un/misinformed. He's correct in his tactics and logic. Orcs aren't supposed to be strong. It's already a surprise that the ogres lost to the orcs to begin with. Using guerilla tactics to widdle down large numbers and their natural agility plus home field advantage to cut down on losses makes fighting the orcs an easy win. But like the ending stated, he wasn't informed of the Starved ability the Orcs had, that eating makes them stronger. Actually neither were the lizardmen as the part where Souei is supposed to tell them was cut. It's why the lizardmen chieftain said no one is allowed to die and fight defensively. Cause if they get aggressive like Gabiru is doing and one of them dies/eaten, that's an advantage for the orcs. He isn't even lying about the number of goblins he recruited. There are other goblin villages that he visited other than Rimuru's that didn't have the fortune of having been named by something that was named by Veldora. You also can't blame him for being tricked. Laplace goaded him into acting, using the name of the demon who went out of his way to name Gabiru to bait him. It's an easy thing for Rimuru but names are VERY important to monsters. An honor as well as a huge power boost. Gabiru is probably THE strongest lizardman. For the moment, anyways.

I have no idea what will happen, but I have pictured that Rimuru could use his adult male form during this war, and after it he shows his true form. No one would respect a mere slime no matter what power they say it has. So in order to gain said trust, Rimuru should give a demonstration of power in a form they can respect, and THEN shows its true form. (kinda liek what he did with the ogres)

Gabiru isn't a bad guy, he just doesn't have the full info. He isn't aware of the Starved ability. He loves his family. Even in the privacy of his own head, his reason for taking over to to allow his father to put down his burdens and spend the rest of his days relaxing. He just thinks they are being unnecessarily cautious, and that's on the chief for not informing his son/strongest fighter of the true danger.
