I just want to point out that the traditional British pantomime still incorporates elements of the audience participation found in ancient theatre. "He's behind you!" etc

Being fair, part of that is due to how the movement to fiat unbacked currency from precious metal backed currency (or other, typically less successful methods) meant that the concept of 'inflation' became normalised. Before that, having any inflation at all was typically regarded as a great concern. These days people tend to panic when deflation is mentioned or, far worse, hyperinflation. So another change caused by an evolution of culture caused by a change in technical capability. And you wouldn't want to have the economy go back to that old method, unless it had already absolutely collapsed, because it would be an utter nightmare. At least with our existing options. If in the future we develop nanofabrication and high output commercial fusion reactors, then you could see a move 'backwards' to a currency backed by fabrication time, fabricator output or units of energy. But such a thing would most likely be less far less restrictive than backing with a limited, extremely hard to increase, good. So finally allowing the combination of the good aspects of fiat unbacked and resource-backed currencies, with far less risk of the negatives. Or you know, maybe some other technological revolution grants options.

Just find a suitable video downloader in your OS's application store, if you're on desktop. Copy-and-paste, hit "go", wait for a few moments, then open in your media player of choice. You can always delete once you're done watching if you're concerned about legality, etcetera. I'm not to that point, yet, myself, but honestly, if YT's ad practices get to be too unbearable, then I'll possibly do that rather than pay for a subscription tier. I'm only making minimum wage, here, after all :-/

@@kameronjones7139 I do find it funny that people feel the need to point out to the British that the British Empire has been dead for a very long time. We're quite aware, we live here. Then you know us Brits are going to take the piss that we managed to be the most powerful country in the world for what 100-300 years? They have to accommodate Americans who have such a sheltered & parochial narrow view of the world that they can’t even figure-out what almost identically-spelled words mean (& would sincerely think “What? There’s no thirteenth month!” upon seeing today’s date written as 13/11/2024, rather than using a bit of common sense to infer it’s just written in a different order than they’re used to).

Sports, of course, are sometimes even further from immune from interence from the croud than Simon lets on: Baseball has been hit with an unfortunate rash of fans sitting immediately adjacent to the field leaning over the railing and reaching into the play area to catch balls that would've otherwise been easily caught by the outfielder, even going so far as to physically wrest the ball from the outfielder's hand - this always results in the offending attendee being immediately bounced, sometimes even prohibited from attending future games should the offense be deemed agregious enough; and let's not forget that it was, unfortunately, a fan of the Nashville Predators who singlehandedly prompted the NHL to ban coolers after throwing a completely intact, albeit dead, catfish onto the ice in the middle of play at a hockey game.
