In "That Uncertain Feeling" (1941), directed by Ernst Lubitsch and starring Merle Oberon, Melvyn Douglas, and Burgess Meredith, a psychoanalyst unintentionally leaves a woman questioning her seemingly contented marriage. Jill Baker (Oberon) seeks therapy from Dr. Vengard (Meredith), who suggests her nagging physical discomfort may be due to her husband Larry (Douglas). Slowly, Jill's doubts about her relationship intensify, leading to unexpected consequences. With Lubitsch's trademark wit and charm, "That Uncertain Feeling" delves into the complexities of marriage, psychological insecurities, and the consequences of seeking external counsel. Will Jill be able to find clarity and restore her once-happy marriage?

Please before giving a thumbs down, most of these movies are in terrible condition, so don't expect miracles! I use a lot of electricity to enhance them as best as I can. I hope you enjoy what I do. Thank you for watching, you are appreciated greatly!
If you have any requests, please comment and I will do my best for you. As long as the requested movies are in the public domain, I can convert to colour and upload here for you to enjoy.
This movie took 16 hours to convert to colour in 4K resolution. I first removed as much grain as possible with de-noising. After that, I upscaled it to 4K and increased the frame rate to 60fps followed by AI colourising and AI facial enhancement. I hope you enjoy the end result!
This movie is in the public domain. There are also many other uploads of this movie across KZbin channels and the archive in it's original black and white form. Public domain mark 1.0.

I wish all these old films were colorized. I enjoy seeing the women's hair styles and dresses as I saw them in my childhood.

I would colorise every single black and white movie available but copyright issues are preventing me from doing so, which is a shame. :(

I've muddled through this film more than once over the years as it so often was reproduced in smudged black and white. This excellent upgrade of image and color makes it worthy of a full look, as if we were there when the film first landed in theaters. Thanks!!!

I get the colorized thing, but some of these old films should be remastered and left black and white. Just my opinion.

The rationale for coloring a B & W classic movie is to increase its appeal. OK. If changing the color of the movie is acceptable in the interest of adding appeal, where does one draw the line? Let's see: we're looking for more appeal, right? In addition to color, why not add record better music? Or put in snappier dialogue (by way of dubbing)? Or expand second unit shots where possible? Sex is always appealing: let's add closeups of sexy body parts! Lubitsch (here both producer and director) was an artist. His medium was monochrome film. Likewise the set and costume designers were all mindful of how things would appear on the silver screen in monochrome. They are also artists. To color artificially a monochrome film on the assumption that it is thereby made more appealing or more interesting is wrong on so many levels for so many reasons. Using the same assumption, let's put a multi-colored collage of see-through plastic over the Mona Lisa (to brighten it up). How could we make Van Gogh more appealling? Ah, I know: apply AI to straighten out all the needless squggles in his painting. What's next? Uncubing Picasso ? In the final analysis, if I have to explain why coloring a lovely B & W movie is an abusive abomination to you, you are not going to understand it anyway. I might as well save my time. Many thanks and high-fives to those who know what I'm talking about. My rant is now over. `

95% of my subscribers enjoy what I do and appreciate what I do. Its not for you so simply move on to another channel, you are not forced to watch a colorised movie and leave negative comments. The black and white version is still alive and well, see the link in the description. The word "colour" is written in the title, that should really be enough to warn you away from disappointment. You feel it necessary to leave a negative comment, I thank you for the engagement. "The rationale for coloring a B & W classic movie is to increase its appeal." You couldn't be further away from the project thesis. The idea of colourising these classic old movies is to bring them to a new audience, a younger audience who, unfortunately, would never watch anything in black and white. Everything today is done with far too much CGI, 4K, 8K, 3D, shocking content to draw in an audience using a wow factor. As far as I'm concerned, many movies today have lost the idea of a good story, brilliant actors / actresses and good direction, simply relying on technology over quality content. The brilliant actors and actresses of yesterday are being viewed by a new audience that probably would never known they existed. I try my best to upscale to 4K, the younger generation understand 4K, they understand and expect 4K, it attracts the younger generation. I do have many positive comments from people who enjoy older movies in black and white but appreciate the colourisation too. They would have forgotten about the movie and can always go back to the original black and white through the link in the description should they wish to. For many people, the channel brings back memories of their childhood, growing up and watching various movies with their parents or grandparents. Now I hope you understand what I have achieved with this project. I hope you enjoy the next project, science and nature time-lapse, macro, microscopic and slow motion videos. The colorisation of classic black and white public domain movies is coming to an end this week. I hope to see your comments on my science and nature videos, negative or positive, I don't mind at all, always open to criticism.

Thank you. I have had takedowns and copyright strikes, they are both mistakes or malicious, but I have no way to fight back against one of them, being a multi billion dollar company. I downloaded a public domain movie from Wikipedia, spent 14 hours enhancing it, uploaded it and this big company claimed copyright because they have now released the same movie. I see the same movie on multiple KZbin channels, Wiki, Facebook, Twitter and so on, in it's original form, however, they have attacked my channel only. I have no support from KZbin in this, 3 strikes and the channel gets terminated, although I have done nothing wrong. I need to protect my KZbin channel, fighting one claim, that should be released by Monday, after that, I will be publishing the movies I have queued up. There will be no more colourised movies after the next 2. I will be uploading science and nature videos, time-lapse, slow motion, macro videos, quite interesting things that I am hoping people will enjoy. I am also recording some music and hope to have a music video uploaded within the next month or 2. Apart from that, everything is good, just the stress of copyright claims has got to me, the big business wins over small KZbin channels. The system doesn't work for us unfortunately, if you are using public domain movies.

@@catherine59226 Thank you so much, I will need all the support I can get when I change the channel to the new videos. I will also slowly be removing the work I have done, just to avoid any future problems but first, waiting on a strawberry on a piece of bread to grow mould, an apple to rot away in the attic, the back of my garden that backs onto a field to turn from winter to summer and an apple tree to blossom and grow apples. I'm hoping the first 2 will be ready middle of next week, the other 2 wont be ready until end of summer. In-between, there will be music videos and I will be taking requests for time-lapse, slow motion and macro videos. If if works out, I will invest in more cameras and try to do as many different projects at the same time, would be ideal to have at least 2 videos uploaded weekly.

I hope you will enjoy them. There will be a lot more effort to do these videos as each one will take days / weeks / months to film and I really would like to write my own music for each one. Hopefully next week, the first one will go well. It's gonna be a learning experience too, similar to the movie enhancing, so they should get a lot better over time.

It's a little sad that you have to stick to very old movies. Truth is, they are much before my time. These movies are what my parents loved and enjoyed. I mention this because the quality of your work on colorization is so very commendable, and you would have been able to use your highly-appreciated talents in restoring and colorizing films from the 50's and 60's like: Rock around the clock, Shake Rattle & Rock, Nights of evil and TV shows like Have gun will travel, Bat Masterson, Burke's Law Cheyenne and Tombstone Territory. Your exceptional colorization would have given them a new lease on life and entertained TV and movie lovers the world over.

Thank you for your kinds words, unfortunately, I am getting a lot of copyright claims to public domain movies from the big companies who like to release their own enhancements. It seems that the project will be dead from next week due to corporate greed, takedowns and copyright strikes. For example, at the weekend 25+ movies were knocked offline from my channel due to a false claim. It took me hours to counter and 4 days to get them back online. 250 hours of work taken offline by a single company. I can't really do this anymore, it's soul destroying at times and I need to protect my KZbin channel as much as possible for the next project. The older the movie, the less likely I will get any claims. 60s and over will be mostly under copyright.
