The colorization is annoying!! Muddy and garish, prefer the original B&W for all these old films!
@SimonWard112 сағат бұрын
Well I suggest you request that I enhance it in black and white rather than getting annoyed. You could also choose from the many original grainy black and white versions on other channels with absolutely zero work put in.

Always like your restoration work. Hmm...As usual I prefer the Black n White enhancement and the original White Zombie to Revolt. Dean Jagger makes a handsome enough but "colourless" leading man, lacking the charisma and slick menace required for the role. Character actor Ian Keith would have been perfect ! Dorothy Stone also seems miscast, a bit "too mature" for this kind of "scream queen" role in what appears to be her Sole Feature film. The eldest daughter of character actor Fred Stone, Dorothy was a popular musical comedy actress in her own right, usually as a "replacement" or for the "road show" company. What I find very intriguing is the representation of colonialist French Southeast Asia / Cambodia...Everyone dressed in Tuxedos for dinner in the tropical heat ! And the deployment of Asian extras.

Despite the modesty of this introduction, this restoration is wonderful. Thank you for the sequences, the precision of the explanation and this work. What a pleasure to see Buster Keaton in these conditions too ! The scenes with Charlotte Greenwood should have had a price as much for dialogue as for gesture ! 😂Whatever the number of years... A century later, they are amazing. "Comme ci comme ça" Absolument !

I like the colorized version better than the B&W because it adds a 3D effect

Loved the movie. I haven’t had the time to be here lately but I already see several new old movies I have to see. I really need to start catching upon your uploads. 😊
I love the older movies that make you watch the credits first. You are forced to sit through instead of leaving theater early.😅

What a Blessing!! If only Donald Trump could be held accountable!!!...this movie was a picture of his character. Only...where this hard hearted man, would put a dog to death. Trump is so evil...In so many ways!! He accused innocent people of eating dogs!! This movie was made, nearly 90 years ago. Such a picture of how one evil minded person can recruit followers, And the ones who work closest to this person, basically sell their souls...Like a man in our day...a hero...after 911. Now he's a joke and a loser. The man he followed...doesn't care... Jesus, help us!! You are GREATER!!! Than Donald Trump!!! And all the sell outs, foolish enough, to worship him.

I couldn’t agree more with the admonition regarding colorizing. This superb restoration may well make more than a few converts - yes, even Millennials- who typically scowl at the idea of watching a black and white film.

Poor Nan was so naive! As soon as she saw that man disappear from her car, she should have turned around and driven off as fast as her car could go! Great movie though, very sinister especially in the mysteriously foggy village. Excellent screen quality

Could you do one with legendary Dolores Del Rio in a Mexican film set in the 1900s named "Las Abandonadas"? You did a most excellent job with this gem of a film and I'd be willing to wire a fee for this classic Mexican film.

Does anyone else sort of seem like able to feel the exact weather from the location whre the film took place? I can almost smell the air of different bushes and grasses.. catch the songs of’em singing birds abd even the buzz if random flies and probably a beetle passing by.. the warmth of sunlight and how too hit it seems when shining in eyes. The air.. cool and cooler in the shade kf trees…. I can’t explain how I feel to you but it’s like as if I know what it was like.. or any other similar place is like. Amazing but… makes me feel happy. ☺️
