Alright, alright…you want it? You got it! Thanks to each and every one of the hundreds of folks who asked me to do this one. Heathfield Farm’s now legendary eclair to end all eclairs challenge; unbeaten for over two years and branded impossible by news outlets far and wide! A fitting way to spend the 200th episode of The Chronicles of Beard series (I’m gonna stop using that name for the midweek episodes; it takes up too many characters) and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. Special mention also has to go to the cake ladies who made this special one in my honour and to the folks at Heathfield Farm who helped me swerve the head office red tape enabling me to actually shoot this episode ;)

And throwing up in a public is horrifying to me. Also, there's a sense that when you're in public, you have to eat somewhat quickly. Speaking as someone who puts weight on if I stroke a chocolate labrador, I can't begin to get my head around how someone so skinny can eat such colossal piles of calories and still remain eight stone ringing wet. Absolute legend. Just get your cholesterol checked eh, just in case?
@w1975b2 жыл бұрын
Cholesterol doesn't indicate disease because cholesterol hasn't been proven to cause any disease. And humans can't eat calories. Calories are just heat, determined by a machine called a bomb calorimeter which burns whatever food with FIRE. Humans don't use fire *inside their bodies*, they use stomach acid and enzymes to break food down into carbs, proteins and fats. No calories. Science lesson done for the day.
@w1975b2 жыл бұрын
The Randle cycle gets most people. It's activated by consuming fats with carbs, protein is neutral. When the Randle cycle is active, the body stores body fat, becomes insulin resistant, and inflammation is present. Stop the Randle cycle in two ways: don't eat fat or don't eat carbs. This is why keto works, and why low fat works. But at some point people doing low fat will develop nutrient deficiencies because some fats are required for the fats themselves, but also so our bodies can absorb fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, K. Many people also are always hungry when they do low fat, because fat is very satiating. Too many carbs also can cause blood sugar spikes and crashes, not a fun rollercoaster. TLDR - stop the Randle cycle by lowering your carb intake, that's the healthier way bonus science lesson lol

@@okaynope5197 but here's the thing I've learned over the past couple years, plants are NOT food for humans. So your claim/statement (I know, it's what is being told to everyone and has been for decades) that plant fats are healthy is incorrect. Animal fats are healthy - butter, ghee, tallow, lard, etc. I don't care if you ignore this, disagree with it, whatever. Not interested in debating, arguing or discussing further. Just saying what people have been told is healthy is wrong in terms of eating plants. And the opposite (eating animals makes people sick) is also incorrect. If anyone wants more info on the subject - Dr. Shawn Baker Podcast | Revero People share their experiences reversing health problems by no longer eating plants.
@okaynope51972 жыл бұрын
@@w1975b I have listened to Shaun Baker a bit but I am far more convinced by the tremendous amount of clinical trials that show Cholesterol, saturated fats, Apob and the causal link to heart disease, that people like Baker address very poorly in my opinion. For example, he lacks insight into cholesterol level changes from impact events and uses low LDL with heart attack patients as an argument.

It digests what it can (there's an upper limit on how many calories the body can absorb in one sitting; it's still a massive amount, idk how much) and the rest goes out the other end.

He doesn't even for 2 days after this, he burns off all the calories from the previous massive eating which is also why he stays slim and fit.
