When Okarun tried to interfere in setting the table and started singing, he was singing the ending of the animé Slam Dunk. Jiji cut him off then started singing the opening song of Slam Dunk. They were cutting each other of as if playing defense in basketball. This scene never made sense to me in manga because I'm only reading the English translation, but now knowing the full context of what they were saying (or singing) in animé hit with nostalgia in my face with a chair! The author knows how to cater to people of his own age really well!
