I am so thankful you two are safe and that you were protected by the Lord! That brought back a memory from when we took the kids to Florida when they were little. It started out as an awful trip. My daughter got sick with high fever and we had to rush her to urgent care. She had a chest infection. Then a few days later, we decided to drive our rental out to Kennedy Space Center. We had just turned on to the route that would have got us to the Center within 15 minutes. We were driving along and there was hardly anyone on the road. We noticed this car approaching us in the opposite direction and for whatever reason, that guy at the last minute pulled directly into our lane in front of us to hit us head on. Keep in mind, that this road had swamp/water on both sides most of the way, but this one particular small section had grass. My husband Wayne instinctively whipped our rental to the right onto the grass going 60 miles an hour. By the grace of God, he was able to keep the SUV under control and then back on to the highway. The other buddy just pulled back into his own lane and kept going. We too had to come to a stop. We were all shook up and crying (the kids too). That night my husband and I held each other tight in bed and just cried, acknowledging that it was God who sent his angels to protect us. We still to this day don't know why that man did that. Maybe he was on a suicide mission. The next day, we all went early to Universal Studios to have some fun. We were approached immediately by an employee who offered us all free passes to allow us to jump ahead to first in line for every ride the entire day. What a gift and what a blessing! Going through what we went through and what you guys experienced, sure puts EVERYTHING into perspective! God bless and keep you both safe in the days to come. Hugs.

I'm also a motorcyclist and I tell you that the greatest dangers of their ones you can't see! I was following a SUV coming into Palestine Texas, at a good distance, in the fast lane doing about 70 miles when all of a sudden the SUV went into an emergency slow down swerving back and forth, followed then by a swerve into the next lane to the right. I couldn't see what the problem was, but I guess it's just sheer instinct that I decided to follow the car and get out of the lane and just as I left the lane a truck big truck driving the on the wrong side of the divided highway came within inches of hitting the back of my motorcycle doing about 70 miles an hour Since the SUV was in the direct line of sight of the truck I never saw it coming. I'm just glad that I followed the SUV to the right otherwise I wouldn't be here today.

I had that experience 40 years ago. The car in front of me swerved into the left lane and I was staring at the front end of an oncoming car on the interstate. I swerved right onto the grass meridian and he took off my rear bumper. At a combined speed of over 120mph things happen fast. I rolled out of the car laughing, could not believe I was alive. Strap in your pooch a friend of mine was killed when his dog flew over the back seat in a minor accident. The dog lived and sadly he did not.

Funny story - we pulled into a Cracker Barrel east of Bradenton back in February. There was a nice little lake next to the parking lot and we noticed a bunch of those large Muscovy Ducks (like the one the man was feeding in your video). But as I was looking out the window, it looked like one of the ducks was trying to drown another duck. I jumped out of the van and ran over, waving my arms and yelling at the dang to get off the other duck! It was pushing the other ducks head under and keeping it under! Next thing you know, that bully duck jumps out of the water and chases me all the way back to the van. My husband Wayne is sitting there laughing his fool head off and did not come to my rescue! I got on the internet later on to find out what would make a duck want to drown another duck. Turns out its a common mating practise amongst certain ducks!! LOL. No wonder he was ticked!!

We’re planning a trip to North Carolina this summer,; we’ve never been and aren’t sure what’s a must see in NC, can you make any recommendations? Like the 2 of you, we very much like to get out and explore on foot. Thank you

It depends on the time of year you visit, we have both the mountains and beaches and both are beautiful. Thanks Last spring we took a trip to the OBX (Outer Banks of NC) we have videos that you can check out to see what it’s like. We live in the mountains so they are near and dear to our hearts and it’s a good way to escape the summer heat, we don’t have very many videos on the mountains, but I think you just gave us an idea. If you let us know when you are going to visit an where you are planning to go we can better give you some recommendations and maybe we will see on the road. Thanks for watching and the comment. Stay safe!

Life is short. Life is shorter than you think! When I had my 27k lbs diesel pusher coach, there was no practical way to secure my mother in her power chair, as she was handicapped. I was frequently horrified with the possibility of some kind of accident that would end up bad, so, I Always drove slower than everyone else to give myself a chance to react to any situation. My brother in law, a semi driver for a major soda company, would always end up ignoring my admonitions to stay on the right and not follow close behind other vehicles. Caused a lot of issues and I eventually relieved him from any driving assistance. He was so wired for hauling soda containers, he forgot the human factor, he could not adjust to hauling people. I always held the attitude that it's the journey as well as the destination. Just keep on going and don't let this incident you had keep you from enjoying the life you have, moment to moment. When it's time, it's time...

Thanks David. Believe it or not I edit in my iPad Pro 12.9. I use two apps primarily, 3 counting the Files app. I organize the footage into directories with the Files app. I edit the video with Lima Fusion. I render the video from there and open it in Adobe Rush and color correct, add titles and balance the sound. Export from there and upload to KZbin. Hope that helps.

We did not stop, but we did call 911. At the time we were so shook up and was afraid of a major pill up on the highway and getting far enough away not to be part of that. All I can say is we were not thinking clearly, you are correct we maybe should have stopped. By the time we sped up to miss the truck we were doing 80mph. By the time we slowed down other cars were speeding by. And then we were just too far away to safely back up on the shoulder. We checked at the rest area with HP and left our number as well. From what we heard from a subscriber who passed it was really bad... had to cut them out of the trucks.

I'm so glad you guys are safe. After driving 50K+ miles per year for a decade, I know that shakened look and feeling. But I wanted to give you some tips to keep your pup safe. I've kept my previous dog and current standard poodle in a travel harness. After trying a number of ways of securing my dog, I found my favorite type is a wire that attaches with a quick link that can connect to your seat belt so Maggie can stay in her bed between your seats. Tonight once again it saved my pup, and ultimately us, when I slammed on my brakes, and I mean hard, to avoid a deer. She slid forward, but was unharmed. I found that any well fitting padded travel harness works. Just make sure it's snug and comfortable. Good luck and I hope this helps. www.amazon.com/Leash-Boss-Seat-Belt-Restraint/dp/B01GF69PUS/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=leash+boss+dog+car+seat+belt+restraint&qid=1586152787&sprefix=leash+boss&sr=8-3 BTW - I have a 2019 Travato G and found my pup was happiest when I put the table down with cushions and a blanket behind my seats. I attach my link to the child seat loop on the bench seats. She can watch everything and avoid the vibrations on the floor.
@VANTREKKINGlifestyle4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for sharing how you keep you pups safe. I have already put it in our Amazon cart. I wish I could get Maggie to stay in the back but she just wants to be close to us, now it’s hard to break that habit. I fo think this option will help. Glad you didn’t hit that deer. We appreciate you watching and for this comment. Stay safe and healthy.

VAN TREKKING lifestyle U did the best you could, after all you are NOT medically trained. I talked to my Uncle who is retired State Patrol, and he said sometimes it would have been more Humane to have taken out his gun and shot the people that were in so much pain and suffering then waiting for an Aid Car to come and they would die on the way to the Hospital.
