Otherwise you are likely never going to have rational conversations about a topic that is actually important and needs approached logically. @@adam_1144 the bad thing about the red flag law allows no due process for the individual being targeted. In such states which has a law similar to the red flag law, there has been doctors who have abused it because they didn't like the person. Such as the doctor in New Jersey, who use the red flag law to take someone's guns because they gave them a bad rating on Yelp. If this law doesn't have due process for the individual, then you will see an abuse of use by people to make people do or act how they want them to. Just like universities with these councils with the rape allegations. a false allegation can destroy a person's life because there was no due process for accused to face their accuser. In the situation we have put ourselves in, we believe the accuser more than the accused because we have been told it's wrong to go against the accuser. Which these red flags actually scare some people because you may never face the accuser in a court of law, so I becomes a problem of who said what deal. The red flag laws also don't attack the main problem which is mental health problems in America. Since this is the main worry, but I believe it will defer people from looking to fixing their mental health. Since people are scared if they say the wrong thing while working on their problems, it could make them lose a security or means of living for them. The main problem is should we lose two constitutional rights just for the name of safety.

Because the Democrats, including Obama, never said a word about substantially reducing our commitments to these nations, in fact they squealed every time a Republican suggested maybe they could increase their own defenses a little and stop relying on the U.S. to provide by far the largest part of their STRATEGIC defense. Which is what most of the funds you are blathering like a six-year-old about are ultimately going to be used for. We wouldn't need nearly as much defense spending if we didn't need a global Navy and Air Force to take up the slack the European EU or NATO countries (which collectively have a larger GDP and population than the U.S. - dwarfing Russia) or if we didn't need to have whole Army divisions practicing to move all over the world at a few days notice to back up these deadbeat "Allies". That's what accounts for the bulk of the cost ALL of the U.S. defense establishment, not $500 toilet seats that the Anti-Pentagon whiners like to point to as the problem. Nuclear weapons that prevent large-scale attacks on the U.S. are relatively cheap compared to "defending our Allies". Oh, and exactly what did Obama do to end the U.S. interventions in the Middle East during his EIGHT YEARS? The "Commander in Chief" vacilated back and forth and ended up sending MORE troops to Iraq. @@relayerdave Well, how about looking at some FACTS: > Republicans claim $ 48 billion is too much to allow folks to have water without lead in it. > Republicans spent like crazy while Trump was in office adding over $ 8 trillion to the National Debt > Republicans shoveled more than $ 3 trillion to the millionaires/billionaires (their friends) while Trump was in office. > $ 48 billion represents less than 2% of the money the Republicans gave to the upper 1% while Trump was in office. BTW: > You may have noticed that after both of the last two Republican administrations, Bush and Trump, we were in a recession and millions of jobs had been lost. Also > You may recall when Trump and the Republicans were piling on this debt Rush Limbaugh saying, "Nobody is a fiscal conservative anymore. All this talk about concern for the deficit and the budget has been bogus for as long as it’s been around." Well, now that the Democrats are in power and need to again bail the country out from a Republican caused recession Republicans are once again fiscal conservatives and saying that spending money to help the folks that have been truly hurt by the failed policies of Trump and his enablers is too much! WTF ! SMH !
