What I _do_ know is that Hollywood simply does not turn out movies like this any longer; original IP's and intelligent scripts seem to have disappeared. We're left with sequels of sequels, awful 'soft reboots' and more comic book movies. At this point it's laughably bad. Thank heavens we have movies like this to remember. Hollywood used to turn out a handful of movies of this quality every year, actually. Even the horror movies were better then. They keep re-making Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but they just get progressively worse as the originals continue to be unsurpassable.

The commentators quipped that the 'stray dog' on the field was going to give the pig "a few tips on how to be a sheep-pig" but he actually really *was* giving him the best tip of all. The writers were on top of their game, as was everyone involved in making this move, and slipping that line in there is just another example of the little bits of awesome making up the fantastic whole of the movie.

I remember me, my mom, my dad and my brother - we were kids and we watched this on the big screen. This is my first movie on the big screen. I will never forget it! And my parents bought us a pig and it looks like babe too!

Five stars! The KZbin algorithm pulled another fast one on me and slipped this into my queue. I remember the acclaim "Babe" received when it was released - yet I wouldn't see it until years later when we got a copy on video cassette and I watched it with my niece. Instant classic. A couple of weeks ago, I spent hours compiling a list of my favorite movies: had intended to stop at 100, but exceeded 200. Watching this clip alerted me that I hadn't included "Babe." I claim I'm not a sentimental guy, but as I grow older, I tear-up quicker. These six minutes had me in tears as I recalled the maybe four times I've watched the movie and the great delight I experienced each time I saw it. Thank you!

Saw the movie last night. For the longest time I was baffled at how an apparently silly and light family movie about talking animals could earn a best picture nomination at the Oscars, and now I understand why. Definitely one of the most underrated movies I've ever seen.

Arguably the finest if not the finest Australian film ever produced.....a delightful children,s film....but on a subliminal level a film which expresses tolerance and acceptance.....perhaps every politician should view this classic work for it,s humanitarian approach.....a classic beatiful film...

Wow! That brought back memories. I was the animatronic puppeteer of the puppet version of Babe and I remember well shooting this scene. Besides how fantastic Jamie was and the animal trainers and their charges it was incredible was how brilliant all those extras were! It could have been a lot harder to film than it was.

I just love love this movie ending. The way how it goes from full on laughing stock to then stun shocked silence to then absolute cheering perfection.Truly a great way to prove everyone around him wrong about a animal who could do this after all.Truly a fantastic film to treasure and enjoy for everyone.

One thing that is not obvious is that the dogs don't know what to do. The handler is constantly whistling instructions to them. The dogs don't know about the collars the handler has to let the dogs know which sheep to separate. But Farmer Hoggett, just stood there.

So watching this when i'm 31 it shows me multiple things I could bring onto my hopefully to be child one day. 1. You don't have to be inside the box, not everything that always has been the same means it is the best way of handling things. 2. The most beautiful and elegant "dog" doesn't have to be the "best". 3. No matter what, kindness goes a long way and will get the best out of others. Be kind and you will be treated as such.
