This was a great inspiration to watch Mrs. Thatchers Ceremonial Funeral in London.....great funeral music (marches) played by the incomparable Royal Marines select Band...wonderful atmosphere and national demonstration of public grief...and acknowledgment of the great public service given to her country for some many years...Maggie was a tough,resolute leader who could make the difficult decisions....I don't see her being replaced for a long time....RIP Maggie T.....God Bless You Always....from a Canadian admirer.

Leaving a church for the RAF, the Royal Marines band, the gun carriage from The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, and soldiers from everywhere else taking part. Thatcher loved the military I can guess.

@@43mane It is important to know that Walch not Beethoven composed this march. There were five funeral marches at Queen Elizabeth's funeral. Two of them were definitely composed by Walch, with a third probably orchestated by Walch, but based on a Piano Sonata Op26 by Beethoven. The other two are by Chopin and Mendelssohn.

Why was there no symbols of her status placed on her coffin? She was a Boroness so I thought atleast a coronet would be placed on the coffin

because she wasn't born into a noble family, no family jewels were inherited from .. her Baroness title was just given to her as a life peerage and not a family inheritance.

@lukealadeen7836 Yes, that was his order of the garter. Hers was just done a little differently. I believe there was some concern that protesters would throw paint or something. Therefore, they had a spare union jack and her insignia safe at St. Paul's.
