i will continue posting for a long time to come. the reason i have an almost endless bank of footage to draw from is evidence of just how great she really was. i do not ever have to look at a bit of thatcher footage and then decide not to upload it because im ashamed of the message she gave. even when i do think she is wrong it is so trivial that it has not yet stopped me from uploading anything..... this is why there are many thatcher channels on youtube and as yet i have not found any that post as much or as often in backing up major, blair, brown and cameron....... i dont blame them as i would not want to show people such a bad record if i did support any of these idiots.... not to worry though i shall post them on my channel eventually

***** Cameron is doing the best to his ability in being in a coalition government and I must say it's time conservatives of all backgrounds do unite to oust this coalition pact and elect a majority Tory government. I quote from the lady herself when talking about giving the people the choice over Europe 'they will turn to extreme partys.' A great sense of irony in that considering it is happening with the emergence of Ukip and I very much predict that could under our FPTP system split our share of the vote and give Labour the chance to reck the slow but obvious recovery we've achieved. I respect much of what Margaret Thatcher did and there are lessons to be drawn from her but it's time we move forward as much of what she predicted has already happened. Unless we back our PM and give him a chance of a 2nd term with a majority we shouldn't simply run down his leadership and record in government yet. PS I've enjoyed the videos over the last 5 years of seeing them published *****
@thatcheritescot10 жыл бұрын
Tony Vasiliou cameron is a failure. he deserves no support from conservatives. i will be voting ukip and i strongly urge all other thatcherites to do the same.
@tonycypriot940110 жыл бұрын
You are very much abandoning the very things Thatcher stood for promoting such a move. If we actually stood more loyal to our party than go for a minority party (which by the way stand for dismantling some of what Margaret Thatcher achieved) we'd see more chance of staying strong as a country and uphold our standing world wide. Do I think Britain should fight it's cause in Europe YES and do I support a referendum Absolutely, however a straight exit NO as many in several fields and professions that I've read have highlighted the damage it would do and limit our open connections where Europe collectively stands as a market (I'd only hope the NAFTA would welcome Britain as a member in the event of such a move).

That's what you _don't_ see from most former PMs, willing to stand on the back benches and make a speech, looking at the dispatch box that they once occupied. Brown, Blair... I bet sitting next to Maggy is intimidating for the two MPs eitherside haha!
@tonycypriot940110 жыл бұрын
Agreed, she had more respect and passion for her role and to her constituents and carried on with her duties as an MP until stepping down for a new candidate later on. The rest after just a load of hot air that unfortunately a majority of the nation fell for...

Just curious, how much power do the Lords have in comparison to the Commons?
@thatcheritescot10 жыл бұрын
they have more power in adding to bills.... but they cannot introduce anything. everything starts and ends in the commons. the lords can slow things down but if they go too far the commons can over rule them. it happens every few decades but not often. also the lords are not supposed to block anything that was in the winning partys manifesto... but again sometimes they have done.
@hens0w10 жыл бұрын
The lords have the right to introduces legislation (not "money bills") but most legislation is started in the commons to make use of the Salisbury convection and Parliament act In the session resent ended 23 bills starting in the commons and 10 bills starting in the lords were Assented to. (counting the House of Lords Reform act as commons despite it starting in the lord in previous sessions there may be others like this)

Let me see....which PM received the most votes as leader during a GE campaign? Over 14 million of them. Mrs T? Or perhaps Tony Blair, son of Thatcher? No, the much pilloried but essentially decent John Major. More Britons voted for John Major in 1992 than voted for Mrs T in 79, 83 or 87 Perhaps some ought to keep that in mind.
