Cat is the way to go especially in steep rough ground like what we have here in Southwest Virginia. We have a 545D and 555D.

Real trees and steep ground for 10 years , only used a cat few times, tigercat is waaay better

@@MMikeHD3904 We tried a tigercat skidder we wasn’t getting the loads that we usually did and the transmission didn’t hold up. We’re also in an area on the Kentucky and Tennessee line that there’s no support anywhere near by.

@@daltonhorton3366 ya service is a big thing. I'm in BC Canada, but my opinion with some years experience, tigercat and JD both make better logging equipment, cat should stick to dozers haha 👍

@@MMikeHD3904 We have plenty of JD tractors and farm equipment and I’ve actually not put the L or L2s to the test myself I’m on the R and D board for JD though and we’ve not seen the wiring harness issues, and DEF problems in our 555Ds and 545D as we’ve had many discussions on the JD R and D board. I really enjoy talking about and researching different machines.

Good luck with it . But sooner or later your going to need a winch. Hopefully its set up to put one on without big investment . Nice machine for a cat its not right color

@Flash Man idk I recently got on a 2017 630E tigercat 5500 hrs I'm trying to get a H now lol They all have pros and cons My 545 D didn't have the turnaround seat and cheap and beat me to death for 6500 hrs
