Love this and somehow missed this when it went up originally. I'm on my 3rd pair now and as a lanky 5'9" dude these have been the best overall option for me. Anything with lower than a 6mm drop seems to really wear on my knees when doing plyo or cardio movements (maybe I'm just 40 now?). Especially runs. The GRs have been stable enough for lifts and everything else including business casual day-to-day.

Hey, any experience with these badboys getting wet and drying?
@thatfitfriend2 жыл бұрын
Not submerged, but if it’s some casual wetness from daily wear they dry at an okay rate. I would be nervous getting these super soaked due to heavier upper, tbh!

I want to love these shoes so much. Ive worn them here and there, but I just cant seem to get into them and love them. The GR passion us awesome and watching this video makes you love GR that much more. Im leaning more toward the xero barefoot shoes. Something about the minimal is slightly more appealing

I feel you. Stinks when we love shoes that don't align perfectly with our wants. I have a few brands like that as well where I vibe with their energy/mission, but find it tough to get their products to work for my specificity.

Jake love your approach on shoe assessment. Do you do those analysis yourself? Do you collaborate? Are you interested in collaborating in the future?
@thatfitfriend3 жыл бұрын
I do all the assessments by myself! I've been reviewing shoes for about five years now and started when I was at BarBend. I've spoken with so many shoe dogs at PR events and working on content projects that I've learned a fair amount about construction that goes into various models - it's really cool and I'm continuing to learn more! Definitely interested in collaborating more in the future!

This is interesting,I think the macv1 would be a good work boot but you can't sell me on that heel drop. I just replaced a pair of moabs with a 12 mil drop that killed my knees and ankles with a pair of onterios with 6 mil drop,much better.

Interesting! Yeah, offset is always something that is pretty individual at the end of the day. I’m curious about similarities with anthropometrics/movement patterns that make some folks like higher vs lower offsets. I notice some trends with height/lower body mechanics, but I’m still exploring why some prefer a lower VS higher drop! Thank you for sharing your thoughts 💪

@@thatfitfriend I kind of think of it like a felling wedge in the backlit of a tree the wedge picks up the back of the tree and pushes the top forward it does the same thing to me putting a pressure on my knees in the direction they wernt meant to bend. That's my theory anyway. Thanks for your videos I liked the one about running shoes vs cross trainers
