Video game production, as a whole, eats and chew up people. It's one of the most complex product that can be made, requiring all of its many complex components to be equally high-quality: art, programming, marketing, music, player education (tutorial and ramping player challenge), etc. etc.
@nickmagrick77022 жыл бұрын
its often the story behind a lot of the best games ever made. Often times you will hear it was an accident, something that was under funded, barely made it to market, and didn't have the backing you would expect of an amazingly successful game. The original WarCraft and Blizzard studio's was like that, they even went through several different names and change in leadership, almost going broke in each exchange. I think its the interest in making something great and not having expectations to be held to, is often risky but also makes for the best games possible.

This story was a blast to hear about! As someone who's played Gungeon since release day over 6 years ago, with 420 hours combined across PS4 and PC, I adore it. From the mechanics to the music (did I mention the theme song kicks ass?), the gunplay to the Gungeoneers, everything just goes so well together and it really shows. While tough for new players at first, once you get used to dodge rolling and weapons (and their rarities), you'll be blasting Bullet Kin like a pro (pun intended). Beating pasts is no easy feat (The Pilot's past was the hardest for me), and unlocking the secret characters (Bullet, Robot, Gunslinger and Paradox) takes time, but once you do it, the feeling of accomplishment washes over you and it's so good. It took me 3 years to get the Platinum trophy but damn it was worth it. I even have a t-shirt of the Advanced Gungeons and Dragon art, it's incredible. The community is amazing too, from the fanart to the animations. Thank you Dodge Roll Games for making one (bullet) hell of an experience for myself and others to dodge roll into. If you haven't bought this game, from the bottom of my heart, GET IT. Couch co-op with a buddy is great too. It's a perfect game in my eyes. And they definitely aced the difficult but fair, there is honestly only 1 or two rooms I can think of in the hundreds of hours of play, and probably close to a thousand of watching in the entire game that aren't completely fair, and doable with nothing but the starter gun with enough time and effort. They're such a prominent face in the indie sphere because they earned it with quality, hardwork, and great ideas. I truly hope whatever they come out with next they stick to their guns (no pun intended) and release something with just as much care and thoughtfulness put into it. Yo for any of you guys wishing you could get more gungeon. Good news, there a few games out there that might just scratch that itch I want to point out 3 here 1. Nuclear throne. a difficult rouglike with a very unique style. the combat is engaging and responsive and a game that is overall just so fun I can't do it justice in a KZbin comment 2. Dead estate. A small run and gun rouglike initially started on new grounds. The game takes elements from binding of Isaac such as room design enemies and secrets and combines it with the weapons and equipment from gungeon and puts it together in its own style very much fitting of new grounds. You can actually still play the initial build for dead estate on New grounds for free to see if you are interested in the full game on steam. Which is worth it in my opinion. The game has some really catchy music and very memorable characters and moments that are definitely with your time. And finally 3.Soul knight. A free to play mobile game that has no right to be as good as it is. A top down run and gun rouglike with characters that wildly Change your play stile We all know what mobile games are like now days but this has an incredible amount of content and depth. It has no ads but Unfortunately it still has micro transactions. However these aren't pay to win and more optional characters to provide variation and spice your runs up and you can easily get the full experience by playing smart rather than paying your way to victory. This is not your average mobile game however so you will need some level of storage for the game to run. This game isn't perfect and if you are dead set on never touching mobile games it's obviously not for you but if you have an open mind this game can be really enjoyable

EtG is absolutely one of my favorite games of all time. I have 1200+ hours of play time, and more and more gets added nearly every day. This was a great little documentary to watch. I was not at all familiar with the history or the people behind the game I enjoy so much. I was also surprised to learn that there is an EtG arcade cabinet. I see that I can buy one for about 6 grand, so, I am going to start saving a little bit. It would be sick to have that sitting in the living room or game room. I get confused when games like Isaac or Nuclear Throne receive so much love even though EtG is (in my humble opinion) better on just about every metric than those two; just the lore of EtG is incredible. You can tell a lot of love went into the crafting of this game. I will look forward to see what Dodge Roll comes out with next.

I had no idea these devs were so incredibly fucking cool. these are the type of dudes that I wouldn't even be surprised if I had a conversation somewhere online with given how many of our interests specifically in games completely intersect. Neat video!

Well we already know that there is an "Exit the Gungeon" as a 2D side-scrolling sequel to this one. I think it already had been released by the time you posted this video.

My favorite gun that's based on pop culture is the wind up gun from Futurama! 😃 it plays the little "pop goes the weasle" toon when you reload!

I've been playing gungeon since about 2017, and I've only started getting good this year. I'd love to see a proper sequel to the game some day, but I don't see that happening. Both lore-wise and due to the effort needed by the team. I'm looking forward to their next project either way.

I have Enter the Gungeon because I friended a random person on steam and they gifted it to me. I'm not as big of a fan of DND bullet heck types (other than literally any of Toby Foxes games) so after dying to 2 different bosses in a row I was just done with it. Good job on the team though!
