It's interesting to see the generational differences. Because of the age structure of Japan, just looking at the entire population as a whole might not give you a good understanding when it comes to a topic like this. You need to dig deeper. But a lot of information about japan isn't translated into English. So if you want to learn Japanese with me, I will send you Japanese lessons where I teach you the kind of Japanese that real-life Japanese people speak. Click here and subscribe bit.ly/3q9N0rV

@@buahkelapaliar8829 Well, I can partially agree. Japanese people are generally non-confrontational, often choosing to say nothing rather than speak up about something which could potentially cause an argument. Whether or not that means they'd feign support or that they genuinely don't care (in the sense that same-sex people can marry) could be a point of contention, as both things can be attributed to a desire to avoid confrontation. I'd like to believe that Japanese people are more supportive of that, at least the younger ones (think about the diversity in manga/anime regarding sexualities, I don't think it's simply a kink), it's not a super prejudiced country (maybe somewhat ignorant/traditional in certain aspects but not outright hateful). This just makes me so happy. Like, really happy. I've always wanted to go to Japan once I learn the language but have always been afraid of negative reactions to my community in general. However, as many Japanese people don't openly discuss feelings or opinions in general outside of groups of friends, I felt I could perhaps adapt. That being said, needing to hide myself away and emotionally distance myself from others just to blend in would be incredibly lonely. It makes me very happy to see so many people embrace change and accepting that many people are just different in many ways. I try to see it from all sides as much as possible, but the positive reaction in this video is just very uplifting. Very awesome

And the fact that your sexuality or gender is different from the majority of people isn't gonna change anything about that. Sadly, we can't really do anything about the fact that there's some people who are gonna say mean things to you for who you are. it's not surprising really. just disappointing. imagine someone saying "amputees are disgusting". ok? they can't help being amputees. it's not a choice. i dont care if people are for or against it. that's their own business. when someone tries to force the mentality that "it's repulsive" or "everyone should be gay" that's when i care. just stick to your beliefs, and let me stick to mine.

@@thesen8 There's also the issue of just being tolerant. At some point being tolerant won't be enough, we need to learn to be accepting. Being *tolerant* of black people is still inherently racist, because it's like saying you don't see them as equals in society, only that you'll put up with them like some sort of deficiency that will die out. We have to learn to accept people if we wish to move forward as a society, at least in my opinion.
@thesen8
@thesen8 4 жыл бұрын
@@mikkimillie6732 it's impossible to force others to be accepting unless they have a reason to do so. Like if their child were to be gay, or a close family member. Even then, some people will never be accepting, and trying to force it onto them will just make things worse. A big argument against LGBT right now is that the ideology is being shoved down people's throats. If we all just lived our lives the way we want to live them, people would learn to be accepting naturally.

It is kind of perplexing to me that some people oppose it because they want the birth rate to increase. Neither my partner nor I would be contributing to the birth rate whether same sex marriage is legal or not- and both my partner and I are capable of doing something like donating sperm to couples who would like to have children through a fertility clinic whether we marry or not. I guess folks just get stuck in the headspace of "marriage = baby."

sadly today's people don't like children. we prefer better personal live. but somehow most people still won't get the lives they want after they give up birth. but in poor countries, they prefer more children, they think children bring happiness.

@@subswithoutvids-dw6dv A lot of people just don't have the mobility in life to accommodate a kid, as well. Unless you are solidly upper class, it's pretty much impossible to have a kid and care for it properly without that kid being your whole life from that point on. It's no wonder people aren't jumping at the chance to give up who they are.

Ugh my ex had the same “gay is bad because you can’t have kids” arguments and whenever these people (some of his friends thought the same way) are asked what their thoughts on hetero marriage without kids (either due to personal family choice or prioritizing their career) or hetero marriage where a partner can’t conceive are, they’re out of words 😐 Well we both went on with our lives and started dating other dudes. So much for that.
