I was one of those kids with a comb in his back pocket. Still do it today. I was everyones savior when they needed a comb. Always carried my wallet, lighter, & pocket knife as well. Dad thought me right!!!

If you were a tough guy you had to have the comb in your back pocket, Junkman! And the two tailed bandanna, too! You had to be careful you didn’t bring anything to cool, that the bully would want, either. Like your sweet new Hotwheels van.

Trapper Keepers with anything but Star Wars or sports cars got you picked on. Also novelty erasers were big business in the 80s. I don't remember a single kid who didn't like those. One thing that got you picked on by teachers was scented markers. It turned out having kids doing lots of marker-sniffing was not a good idea.

Getting bullied back in the day built character. Made you stand up for yourself . Make alliances with others to fight the bullies together.. Learn to resolve the conflict in other ways . Half the time the bully would forget to fight you .Some times you found out you were the bully.

Only carried black or red spiral notebooks with same drawn all over them with erasable pens crammed in the spiral and regular pencils. Metallica shirts with leather or denim jackets with patches of bands and Harley-Davidson patches. Holy jeans and black boots with cigs or snuff crammed in them

I remember Roos being cool!! Later on, when I had to wear the ProWings, that was embarrassing because kids picked on me for them, but I got over it. I realized in the 8th grade that I was lucky to have decent clothes that were new. The 8th grade was when the "picking on kids less fortunate than you" phased out at our school. I do not remember after that year if there were kids that got bullied due to that any more. They certainly didn't make fun of you for wearing Wranglers, or Rustlers, that's what we all wore. And we shopped at Weiner's!!
