Hey friends! I made a ham, potato, and green bean casserole from Dollar Tree ingredients as an idea for Easter dinner. I also made cupcakes using soda in place of oil and eggs. All in all it was an easy to make delicious meal.
**The Dollar Tree is a non traditional option that a lot of people either choose to use or have to use for some or all of their grocery shopping. For many of these people the Dollar Tree may be the best option, or the only option, due to availability, distance, or affordability of better grocery options. Not everyone has the ability to access food pantries or food assistance, so please be open minded about the situations of others before criticizing those using Dollar Tree as a source of nutrition.

I am a recent follower and I, too, love the shelf stable milk. I have created quite the panic pantry over the past year and a half, and between Aldi and Dollar Tree I have gathered an impressive array of shelf stable items. I also love your kitchen setting! So many of the cooking shows out are set in kitchens that probably cost more than my whole house! I have a humble electric stove (that I have serviced myself, changing the burners and plug connectors), unfancy cookware, and a counter also draped with electrical cords! But, most of all, I like your pot rack in front of the window! I had a cute little apartment in Bethesda for a few years, small galley kitchen with very limited cabinet space, and I hung my pans over the window, too! I'm 68, old enough to be your grandmother, but I love your videos.

Yes same here! We use the dollartree milk for our emergency pantry. We cycle through it so it doesn't go bad, but if anything went wrong we have enough food for at least 6 months for 5 people. Plus we garden to ensure wr always have a steady food supply in case of emergencies. With the looks of the economy, I've never been more happy we have this.

Same here Guys!! I too have the shelf stable pantry, "just in case" . Shelf stable milk, can veggies, sauces, dried beans, rice, pasta, etc. I Love Dollar Tree's shelf stable milk. I don't drink milk, only use it for cooking, so it last and it's cheap!😀❤

My parents moved away and my son is with his dad so I decided to put together a pantry meal for myself. I didn't have to spend extra because I had everything. I'm having ham from my freezer, roasted potatoes, corn. I made an apple dump cake for dessert. My heart hurts but I'm being kind to myself. I even have a little wine. God bless ya'll. Let's celebrate Resurrection Day.

I often have Spam, but I've not tried the brand you used. But what makes it stick is not so much the lack of fat, as it is small amount of sugar in the product. In my experience, it only takes a small amount of oil (like maybe a capful) to keep it from sticking. I enjoy your videos because they're smart, well thought-out, and practical.!!! Keep up the good work, Lisa!! 👍♥️

We're having fish this year. Frozen fillets of white fish, frozen salmon and frozen raw prawns. I'll layer those (defrosted)in an oven dish with some Moroccan spices, sliced onions, sliced lemons and garlic and cover tightly. I'll start with chopped onions, peppers, courgettes and cherry tomatoes and chunks of garlic in an oven tray with a little oil till it browns a bit. Then add a half cup of bulgur wheat per person and a cup of boiling water per measure. Stir it and cover with foil. When I put it back in I'll put the fish tray in (all at 180°c). After 15 minutes it's all ready to eat. Whatever soft herbs I have I'll chop up (I do grow herbs which makes it easy) and stir into the bulgur.

A lot of folks in Hawaii love canned meats, especially Spam, and there are some fantastic recipes using Spam in them that really elevate the ingredient. My Dad used to love fried Spam sandwiches, and I always found them a bit salty, but pretty decent. I recently bought some roast turkey Spam, and made a sort of poutine with it, some turkey gravy I made with turkey broth I made from the turkey at Christmas (it was frozen, LOL), fries, cheese curds, and the turkey Spam. Quite delicious!

Love the milk too! I keep powdered milk in my pantry though for emergency cooking because my child keeps drinking my dollar tree milk! I took advantage of a BIG spiral ham sale (22.00) so we had ham, green beans, baked potato and home made hot cross buns for dessert. I have enough ham to stock my freezer for the next 6 months. I will slice half of it, seal it and then chop into two types of chunks, small and medium and seal those. I love having chunks of ham to munch on or make into ham salad for crackers or sandwiches. If beef prices keep going up it will be nice to have it around.
