Alrighty, here's what to do: First, why Velio? Ever since Marcus told me about it, I've been closely watching its development, using it extensively and feel I've only scratched the surface of its capability (it's constantly being updated). I've already saved a lot of time using it for myself and clients. I want you to use it longer-term, to see how useful it is over time for you. Because of that, I reached out to the Velio team to get a "stacking" discount available to get for 14 days after this video goes live (the discount will continue for you after you sign up, it's just after these 14 days that it won't be available for other people to get) Here's what to do: Go here: velio.co/?ref=nate Scroll down and select the "annual" option, then if my code isn't already added, add the code "NATE" when you sign up This will give you both the annual discount, PLUS my discount - this is an INSANE value. (Also note if you just want to do a month-by-month plan you can do so, it just doesn't have the stacking value) Why am I doing this? I've already recommended it to my personal clients, and I think it'll be a huge strategy assist and time saver for more people, so I wanted to share. The tool is new, and if you find it useful it can only grow from your feedback!

does the NATE code only work for the annual plan? If I choose monthly it's $35/month, no discount.

They need to let people fiddle with it for a day or two. It’s a pretty big ask for no chance to even really check it out. Also, I didn’t see your discount show up and abandoned my cart.

@@naturalwitcheryyeah I second this. I don’t know what I’m signing up for, or how it would benefit me. I make a living by advising creators with millions of subscribers, and I wouldn’t even test this out yet because it seems like it could risk more than my money, but my time which is even more valuable. If it’s a good product, I’ll never know. And it’s probably intended to be built for someone like me. But I can’t tell what problem they’re solving or why it would make my life any easier. Now if I got to test its functionality without having to sign in, or something… that might make things click. Hopefully this feedback helps the developers. They can always email me for a more elaborate explanation than a comment off a phone.

I have learned to stop sending my videos to friends and family and my twitter peeps. They may click on for a few seconds out of kindness, but they dont watch the whole video. My views went up organically, and I am sure my friends are happy that I stopped!😅 Now they click on and watch longer because the want to as opposed to me trying to shove my videos at them. My best lesson that I learned last year!👍🏽👍🏽 Thank you Nate & Happy New Year 🎊

DO NOT record all your content for one year ahead of time. I actually did this last year on my channel and the results were not good. In the beginning, it was fine, but then it became bad. My numbers and Growth went way down. I did this so I could take a break and that was nice, but in the end, I don’t think that the videos were on the pulse of the community. I had been doing excellent the year before, and it was almost catastrophic on my Tarot and Witchery channel. I could see doing a month ahead or even two months ahead, but being relevant and in sync with the collective consciousness, I think is really important.

I can vouche for the first tip. When I was a game journalist we always wrote our articles with the intent for them to link to other articles. This made older posts have a long shelf life while also giving more context on the subject. It also keeps readers on the site longer where they'll read more and more.

I have come to the realization in the last few months that subscriber count is 100% useless. The only thing it can do is boost your confidence. Once you have 1000 subscribers you can make money and from what I have seen you make the same money with 1000 subscribers as you do with 1 million. It all comes down to watch time. That is my focus moving forward. I am done even asking people to subscribe. If you provide value they will subscribe cause they will want to see what's next. My goal moving forward is increasing engagement.

I have been working on improving the videos filling in some holes I noticed, updating my channel page, and centering my channel's mission while staying on point, but I also deviated away from encouraging comments that I would read out loud on the show like I did at the start, and I never considered video length as a contributing factor for viewership. This has to be one of the best realistic advice videos I have seen compared to others on KZbin. Thanks.

KZbin is a marathon for the vast majority of those NEW to it but that certainly was not the case early on. However many of those early adapters are finding it far harder these days. And for the select few, it's still literally a overnight success. Many times of which has ZERO to do with how hard anyone has worked or not.

I've been posting daily to our community for a month now. I'm interested to see what the results are long term. So far I haven't seen any growth on the front of video reach and I'm not sure engagement has gone up on videos BUT - I am feeling the sense of community around the channel increasing. ALSO - since I am posting daily, I now no longer feel bad about promoting our members only video (which is a bonus video that goes up once a week) on the community page. Before I was always gunshy about doing that as I didn't want every other community post to be asking people to sign up for a membership. But now, since it's just one out of ever 7 it feels better - AND I used to get some negative feedback on those posts and now I do not.

Well for the greater good of a Channel, this is a marathon as you clearly stated, every video is not going to be about the Trendy Subject but a part of a Channels longer term growth Goals. So sure, I will post a video knowing well before hand it won't get many if any views but it fits perfectly within the longer Term Needs of a given channel. So it's EASY to try and post what's Trendy but Much harder to see what might be the BETTER long term vision. It's like starting any type of business, we have to decide which Risks to take and why. Then just try and adapt along the way.

Towards the end of last year (2024) I decided to not worry about when or how frequently I post videos. Burn out is real, especially with a full time job. I get to content recording when I can, I get to audio recording when I can, I get to editing when I can, and I post when I can. The audience will choose to either follow, or not follow, based on quality and content, not how many videos you have.

The consistency of views outcome is further complicated for me being a musician. I can upload 5 different songs, filmed at the same time, same place, and with everything the same except for runtime, and the song itself. One upload loaded song may get 10 views, another 200. So I am unsure if it was the runtime, the time the video was posted, or the actual song itself that is the root cause?!

Making a outro that you can put the suggested videos at the end of your video would help with that, then they aren't blocking anything! I've found if it isn't in front of your audiences faces then they usually won't think to click on it, that's why putting link in the description isn't the best. And you have even prepared those paper 'slides'! Appreciate your efforts a lot! Keep going and all the best to you! :))) I would also love your opinion - I am creating videos about spirituality and nature living, but I am also from time to time uploading a singing or travelling or talking video - so does that work as the 'mxer' you mentioned? :D However the topic behind all of these videos is the same - consciouss living. So should I create separate channels for art, spirituality, nature living vlogs? That feels horrible since it's all ME. And I know channels who really succeeded even with this mixture - like Jonna Jinton. I would be very happy to receive your response!

Thanks Nate, howdy howdy, hey, you are so full of energy, very cool, and I've been told that on my channel, ron valley, and, btw, I feel so luck as I never even try to come up with idea's for my furniture repair channel because when a customer brings, lets say, a chair to reglue, that chair, becomes the the new video, the new idea. And after 47 years of doing this full time, maybe I don't need to know how to edit anything, as it just flows and flows.😊

I wish I could I could follow all your rules. But my extremely random creativity goes against all the rules and handicaps me lol.

I just started this channel. My analytics are showing that youtube is not even showing the shorts to anyone. I think the only ones who have seen the long form videos are the people I’ve told about the channel (on an alternate channel that is connected to this new channel- same niche). Very frustrating it’s not even showing the channel to anyone in order to give it a chance. I’m thinking shorts might be a waste of time. P.S. I subscribed to my own channel and it hasn’t been shown to me once.

Off of tip 1 it’s easy for my niche since I break my videos down into “episodes”. So each episode moves forward based off the previous one.

How about repurposing content from long form videos for shorts? I always feel like if i have a longer video and have small segements that can stand for themselves it's worth making a short out of it that is linked to the main video

Yes good point - as long as the Short can stand alone and feel complete, it’ll work

Hello! In this video (or another one, I can't say, because you're so good at chaining content) you mentioned using the community tab more. It sounds great, but I don't really know what to post there. I can't find a video on this topic on your channel and that would be very useful to me! Happy new year and thank you for your content 😊
