Ms. Fiore, “Wish we had this technology back in the 70’s for our 🅗🅞🅜🅔🅦🅞🅡🅚!?“ Gold Skate and Nationals would have been a lot less stressful 4-sure. I stumbled on your content checking up on “Old Man Bob..Fountain Valley’s doing great, not sure hiw Denis and Gail (Collier) are fairing? Do you? I hung up skates for 38 years after we filmed SkateTown USA and my Last Gold Skate before Military Service. Got back on 3 months ago, and BRAIN PHARTS aside have only fractured my wrist avoiding a 5 y/old entering floor oposite direction while I was backwards flowing through a turn. Now that my memory is back in touch with the floor- My nerves are scared to leave it. Figures are still there, just can’t get feet off the floor. My axles turn to spins, loops turn to bunny hops, where’s my Michelin Tire Guy Snowman Suit!? 😅 So nice to see you doing this “For Sustaining The Sport!“ With Disco-Oasis and Vinyl making a 50 year Reunion Big Time, Feels like 1979 all over again! Q: Can you possibly try a split screen edit with Slow-Mo one side, your walk through on the other? Would help point out edges and form from actual speed of maneuver. Which is a lot different than stationary. “You Wok-I Roll!“

I also liked your comment about not being too old. My daughter taught me to skate again 2 years ago (2016) after being off skates since age 17, I decided to try to be a ref for our local Lubbock, TX roller derby team. It’s been almost 2 seasons and I am not probably going to pass my MSTS because, our “coach” thinks I am too old. I am 59. I will be 60 in October. I am a 3rd degree black belt in karate (got that when I was 51) and a two mile per day swimmer. Am I too old, or should I have a discussion with our team captain regarding our “coach” and her negative attitude?
@ThatNicoleFiore5 жыл бұрын
Judith Johnson omg definitely have a discussion about that! I teach skaters in their 70s and 80s that have no problem at all! And that is amazing, such huge accomplishments! Be proud of yourself and skate on! Don’t let anyone tell you you’re too old for anything! Too “anything” for anything! Lol

@daniellisy71615 жыл бұрын
@@ThatNicoleFiore I have the Chaya Jump, its my first skate. I do struggle with toe stop, T stop, any stop that would allow me to brake on a dime, I skate outside, so in case a kid, or inline skater would change direction I just can't stop fast enough, skate I try to break with, bounces and I almost loose stability, hence I don't even try anything downhill yet :) There are no indoor areas, nor trainers for roller skates where I live. @aj18074 жыл бұрын
I was an ice skater for 3 years as a kid and stopped when I was 9. I'm 15 now and I picked up roller skating pretty easily, the muscle memory of sideways pushes rather than steps is very useful. A lot of new ice skaters try to walk on the ice, and apparently it's common for roller skaters too.
