Whitebeard, Garling, Rayleigh, Kaido, Big Mom, Shiki, Gaban etc are not mentioned… the most likely all took each other out just like every War arc in OP.

This is LOGIC: When Roger and Whitebeard clashed on that island happened AFTER the GODVALLE battle. To sit and think Whitebeard didn’t run into Garling on the same island we see Garling hear about the Rocs pirates arriving on Godlvalle. Also Oda has written in foreshadows all the time. When Whitebeard states to Shanks “Your face reminds me of that man” makes MORE since to it being Garling than Roger. Due to Garling in his youth looking just like Shanks and the fact Whitebeard RESPECTED Roger why would reference Roger as “That Man” to Roger’s own apprentice. That doesn’t make sense. What makes since is Oda setting up a foreshadow of a future surprise character in this moment which he did with Shanks Mystery scare given by Blackbeard. You guys are forgetting the information given at the time due to the information we have now. Details and words have a different meaning. How can you pick a scar when we don’t know which one Whitebeard was talking about, ya use a lot of head cannon. Larry how can you talk about evidence when you’re overlooking all the evidence of the possibility that it can be true. The story is full of possibilities that end up changing everything we THOUGHT we knew. Also the ONLY other time we had two characters LOOK the same we find they are BLOOD RELATED which was Ryuma and Zoro but in Zoro’s family case 3 characters looked the same. And now we have it with Garling and Shanks with a “possible” twin of Shanks. Evidence shows Oda doesn’t draw characters the same for no random reason. Guys don’t forget Oda’s story has been filled with so many possibilities that have changed our perception of moments and conversations in the story before he won’t stop now. A foreshadow that was over 700+ chapters in making, makes for a better story and showcasing of great writing skill than giving the simple and obvious choice.

Wb>=roger in terms of strength. It was never shown in the manga that roger was affected by his sickness. Roger might had superior haki but we do know that wb haki was able to keep up. Wb is physically superior to roger in ever categorie besides maybe speed and he also has one of the best df offensively. We also know because of the law vs bb fight that you can infuse your haki with the gura. So that means that wb can create acoc gura punches that can one shot islands. The main reason however is in my opinion is endurance as wb has by far the best endurance feat in the entire series while being sick and old and having a heartattack.

Whitebeard to me simply seems stronger than Roger in a few different ways. Realistically the widespread destructive of the Gura Gura is impossible to utilize in it fullest without factoring plot. WB shook like 1000 miles of the planet casually while dying from Cancer. I find it hard from a powerscaling perspective that Roger had the power to match that at their Prime.

Strength is not enough, they needed smarts, and other pieces Roger became king without the sacred treasures and the war. He probably wanted a grand war. Roger has similar stats to Whitebeard correct? Similar haki, strength, speed, same classification of weapon (Supreme Grade), etc etc. They are extremely close to each other in every sense of the word with 1 key difference. Devilfruit. Roger has none while Whitebeard has the strongest paramecia out there that can destroy the world. Remember their fight? The one where they clashed with ACoC? They had an even fight for 3 days. And guess what? The island looked the same afterwards. This means Whitebeard didn't use the Gura or atleast didn't use it anywhere close to its full strength. The Gura even with Oldbeard was causing Tsunami's around the world and shifting large parts of the ocean on top of obliterating Marineford. If Primebeard used his Gura to even half the strength we saw him do in Marineford, the island would've seen total destruction. Whitebeard without using his devilfruit fought Roger equally for 3 days. This is a fact. So If he did use his devilfruit, that'd skew the equal fight in Whitebeard's favor. Primebeard > Roger.

I think WB over Roger for a few reasons: 1. In the clash we saw between their crews, Roger had the more heavy hitters not WB and they still came out even (for those that took it seriously, I took it as a sparring match) 2. WB got the title of world’s strongest man. Plus we saw that his haki was comparable to Roger’s w/o the use of his devil fruit. 3. People gotta remember that in that era there was no competition to find Laughtale like in Luffy’s gen because no one knew it existed and you needed someone to read the poneglyphs. Meaning that it’s much less of a strength requirement to get there. 4. Roger’s illness was not old WB’s illness when they fought. I would argue that old WB’s illness was far more debilitating than Roger’s because he literally needed machines and IVs to be alive.

That 3 day fight on the island that ended on in a draw was stacked against whitebeard. Roger had a free silvers Rayleigh doing whatever he pleased and oden was getting extreme diffed by gaban. So Roger had two top tier people left, himself and Rayleigh. While whitebeard just had himself and a teenage Marco.

Whitebeard was most likely referring to a younger Garling (God Valley). Unless the new mysterious Shanks character was the age that Shanks is now and and received Imu's power to stay that age. Then it could also be him that fought Whitebeard at God Valley.

Whitebeard could not claim the tittle of strongest with Roger alive. The pirate king had the upper hand. To make it appear close Roger was sickened, the same happens with Whitebeard when he fights Akainu. At god valley Whitebeard was a support fighter in a team vs Roger and Garp those two were the victors in a larger incident. Roger stood taller.

For me personally I’d put WB stronger than Roger personally. I believe that there are a few reasons as to why Roger became Pirate King and WB didn’t. For one, WB didn’t even seem like he was going for that position. He just wanted to take care of his sons and make sure that his sons were safe and protected. He put way more effort into trying to save Ace then he ever thought about becoming the Pirate King. He literally didn’t even show that much interest in finding the One Piece or becoming the King of the pirates. And if I’m not mistaken there were multiple times where it was mentioned that if WB wanted to he could’ve became the Pirate King. And secondly, to me it seemed like Roger just had better luck and more connections that helped propel him into the position of the pirate king. But I again, personally say that WB with the epithet of “The Strongest Man Alive” would more than likely beat Rogers in a straight up 1v1 fight. And I’m definitely not saying that WB would just dominate and slaughter Roger each time at all! But what I am saying is that outta say 10 fights I personally think or believe that WB is winning 6 outta while Roger is winning 4 outta 10.

Roger and Garp, and their respective crews, defeated Rocks’s crew, which had four Yonko level mates. While Roger only had Rayleighs on similar level to Yonko and Garp. So that’s 5 Yonko level in Rocks crew vs 3 Yonko level in Roger’s crew and Garp.

Doesn’t mean anything. Roger and Garp had to 2v1 Rocks. Whitebeard could have fought Rayleigh then Garling back to back. Or any combination of that. All that means is Rocks was way stronger than Roger and Garp alone. Kid and Law beat Big Mom but it doesn’t 100% make them stronger than Mihawk, or any Admiral as individuals.
