Also this fight against Blackbeard either gave him new purpose - having reached his goal in destroying DeFlamingo and Kaido - or it destroyed his spirit as a captain. If he thinks he is unfitting to be a (big) captain, he will more easily join Luffy, although he could easily get a "2. Division" going for Luffy, not messing up the bounty and command structure on the original crew. Also, what is to be expected from future fights with the pairing of him and Chopper and possibly Vegapunk? Bio weapons and severed body parts? Cheat codes against the Pacifista, "injected" with Laws techniques?

Anyone hating on garp doesnt understand the concept of the "Your actions have consequences". He told them both to be strong and be marines. If they were marines and ever in danger he would have done everything to save them but choosing the life of pirates have concequences that both luffy and ace knew or you gonna cry about that they are kids. Also the way narration is going its pretty evident that Garp is trying to change the govt and their ways of dealing things from within and its not easy to give up everything.

I'll comment as I go through the video and hopefully there's not too many edits 1) Garp and Coby's positions in the Navy afforded and restricted their options. As Garp is the HERO OF THE NAVY, you have to set the example. If Garp went and saved Ace, that would give every single marine/navy personnel an excuse to break the rules. To Garp, letting Ace be executed by the Navy or saving Ace was choosing between 2 sons. It's why Garp let Luffy hit him and knock him off the platform so Garp could fulfill both duties, to his grandkids and the Navy. After Akainu killed Ace, Garp was LIVID and wanted to go after Akaiju, but he let Sengoku hold him back so Garp wouldn't lose his other son (the Navy). Koby at MarineFord, WASN'T held to the same restriction as Garp. Because he was low ranking personnel and didn't have to set an example, Koby could make a heartfelt plea to both sides at Marineford to stop killing each other. However, because Koby didn't hold a strong position in the Navy, no one was gonna bat an eye at him being killed even after the speech. And since it seemed like he was protecting the pirates, Akainu wanted Koby 6ft under. TLDR: Garp can break rules and live if he gets results and doesn't have the world staring at him. Koby can break the rules but it WILL cost him his life cause he doesn't have that pull in the Navy/World Government. Garp did what he could for Ace but he fell short and is now stuck with that guilt (It's part of why he just doesn't immediately go after Aokiji) Edit: I'm gonna do my best to rifle through these cause I already wrote a short essay with my 1st take lol 1) Garp and Aokiji are going to be in a draw until BB and other titanic commanders show up, forcing Aokiji to kill or fake Garp's death. Aokiji would only do it as a final result as Aokiji is deeply devoted to his own sense of justice (Merciful justice, reluctant to kill and will always strive to do what he see's as good). Aokiji would also bail out Garp's members if he had to kill Garp. (Side note -> I think if BB does kill Garp instead of Aokiji, Luffy is gonna merk him after Akainu) 2) Law is stronger than Kidd by a decent margin and both of their losses would lead to one of two things. Either they're removed from the story to recieve a power-up (Like Sabaody) or Oda is doing this to remove them from the One Piece race. I'm more in line with the first option. 3) BB is definitley not the most powerful person and will always fall short cause he uses hacks & jumps on his side to win fights or runs when he knows victory isn't guaranteed. I'd say out of the currently known powerhouses he's probably anywhere 15th-20th place. 4) Lucii's awakening isn't rushed. He's had 2 years to train and a DF's awakening happens when your physical strength and mentality match your DF. Lucii's DF is a jaguar and he's always been a cold killer even as a child. The time skip allowed his strength to catch up to his mentality hence unlocking his awakening. The only reason why it doesn't 'feel' earned is because of how much time we've spent with Luffy getting his. 5) Luffy is currently stronger than BB. If you put both of them against a fresh Kaido, Luffy would put up a significantly more difficult challenge to Kaido. If BB fought Kaido I think you would see the same outcome as Law vs. Kidd. Without awakening both of his DF's and strong armament or conqueror's armament BB has no chance. Even if Luffy and BB were close in power, I still think Luffy would win because his anger & pain over the loss of Ace (& maybe Garp) would push him to the brink of his power & abilities. Sorry about the essay in the comments 😅 I'll try more next time to spark note my thoughts lol 😅 Final Edit: Found you guys on tiktok due to Larry & Sebastion. Gea & Parv being on the episode was awesome! Wish Gia got to speak more, but I also understand trying to get more comfortable to doing the podcast. Really happy that Larry & Sebastion always found ways to let Gea into the convo. Parv has some crazy theories but they're always fun to sound off against/bounce ideas back to! 2:32:50 I honestly don't think they could have beat the seraphim. Going back to dressrosa, G4th Luffy destroyed Doflamingo. Then in WCI G4th was getting destroyed by Katakuri. Then via Haki blooms, Base Luffy started to be able to compete with Katakuri then beats him later with Snakeman. Then at the start of Wano, G4th Luffy fights Kaido and does absolutely no damage. Luffy only starts to do damage when he learns Advanced Conquerors Now let's bring up Zoro, he was able to damage Kaido with Advanced Conquerors, leaving a permanent scar. Now look at King, with flames on, these Kaido scarring attacks could not damage him. Even though they are heavily holding back against the Seraphim, their strength while holding back, should be MUCH stronger than themselves at the start of the timeskip.

Honestly I never really liked Law in the post time skip, I feel like he takes up too much of the spotlight away from the straw hats- whether be it in Dressrosa or Wano, his actions took away from Straw Hat panel time And sure his backstory with Corazon is beautifully written but again I think it makes him far too much better of a main character when we have NINE SH’s (at the time) His fruit is unnecessarily broken He’s also become quite immature after being around Luffy for so long- going as far as to argue about little things like who gets ‘credit’ or ‘dibs’ Law is okay for what he adds to Doflamingo & Corazón’s story, but it shouldn’t have went any further than that, instead he has more lines than Brooke, Franky & Robin combined (probably)
