Peter Crouch & Jermain Defoe! Harry Redknapp's going to love this episode! The podcast reunites one of the Premier League's most iconic duos. Jermain Defoe heads to the pub with Crouchy, Chris Stark and Statman Dave to discuss his relationship with Peter Crouch, when strikers become 'too selfish' and where his obsession with scoring goals came from! There's initial scepticism about the role of stats plus a complaint from friend of the pod Aaron Ramsdale! It's a Jermain Defoe Podcast!

This Episode... who is Statman Dave?! Why was Jermain Defoe known as the acca-destroyer? Where's Bournemouth?! Does size matter? Are Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe the most iconic duo in football? Why "proper" strike partnerships are happy to see each other score! Roman Pavlyuchenko wouldn't say hello! Do you get two match balls for scoring 6? Harry Redknapp scouting youth games, Ian Wright's influence on Jermain Defoe, why Erling Haaland's timing is 'perfect'. Insight on coaching at Spurs academy, hilarious story of how Big Sam Allardyce got Jermain Defoe to play in Soccer Aid, Eggy Boff on a coach, would Jermain Defoe like to become a manager? Who are Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe's most Generous Lovers? (the players who assisted them the most) Who was the best player Jermain Defoe played with (besides Peter Crouch!) the influence of older players like Ian Wright, Neil Ruddock, Steve Lomas and more at West Ham, did Peter Crouch ever get a chance to play in the MLS? Getting a phonecall from Drake... playing for Sunderland under Gus Poyet, a message from Aaron Ramsdale, playing together for England AND a debate about the World Cup chances of Ivan Toney, James Maddison, Callum Wilson and more!

Can’t remember the year but there was a time (maybe a couple of times) when Utd were linked with Defoe… think he’d have scored a tonne of goals for us. Always loved the way he took his shots so early, with very little back lift, didn’t allow the keeper to get set with their feet and inevitably bagged goal after goal. Also a big shout out for the time he took with the young Sunderland fan who unfortunately passed away… a proper player and top bloke 🙌

I’ve been supporting Spurs since 1970 and JD will always be one of my favourite ever strikers, I’ve wished him well at every club he’s played with, a legend on and off the pitch. As an Irish man I was baffled that Walcott went to the 2006 WC ahead of JD, absolutely disgraceful….. What a fantastic episode lads, well done 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I think when it comes to GK coaches, surely having a great Striker like a Defoe coaching them would help the GK think 'I know what that Striker will do now' because as a Striker they could teach the GK's what is going on in their heads at that time.

Love your podcast Crouchy! Been a Spurs fan since 2001, watched you and J and man what a ride! I live in Seattle and that's why I started supporting Spurs because of Kasey Keller (my buddy should have gone over but had a kid instead 😄). Anyway, I am a Seattle season ticket holder and exactly like J is saying, it's fun, it's football, but it doesn't mean anything over here with only an MLS Cup playoffs. Playoffs are lame (IMO) but whatever. I actually rooted for J at that game because he's one of my favorite players, but I get what he's saying. WE ARE LOUD!!!! 😆Cheers!!!

2.7% of managers in PL have been GK??? Considering the specialisation of the role, that's pretty decent. Consider a squad of x30 players has X3 Goalkeepers, that would mean 10% of squad is GK and 90% is outfield.
