Golden Retrievers are wonderful dogs, but they will chew on everything until they're around 2 years old. I have owned a couple, and the key is to crate them when they are unsupervised. Never leave them to their own devices, at least until they have completely gotten out of the puppy phase, which is age 2. Otherwise, they are smart, easy to train, and friendly. They don't know a stranger. Perfect for a family, or people who entertain a lot of different people.

Don't trim or shave a Golden Retriever. A good brushing is all he needs. The coat protects the dog. A Golden Retriever's double coat protects them from the sun, heat, cold, and moisture. Shaving them exposes more skin to the sun and heat, making it harder for them to cool down. Do a Google search if you doubt me. Second, you should crate train the dog. With a little time you will be able to leave him out inside the house.

Start with treats in your pocket .....call puppy n he sits give a treat, when puppy lays down give a treat .......after few sits n lay down give a scratch n a treat. Very smart dog breed , they're working breed n want to learn n also you'll never poop in private or shower in private

Michael, make sure that when you build your doghouse, it is not so high that they will drown if a typhoon comes in when you are not there. They should be able to swim out the top. Or have it open so they can free roam

Wow free beer and lechon how nice and I missed it haha. I did that toy thing in Davao but didn't keep the second toy just gave it back to them to donate to another child. I actually did that twice and they were shocked that I gave them all the toys. Once that Red is older he will grow out of chewing just have to keep him away from stuff you don't want chewed. Good luck on that haha

Send Free Beer to Florida !!! LOL 😂 With reference to Big Red chewing. If he is still a puppy, he will lose his baby teeth and get his permanent teeth. When I had my Rottie, I gave him a frozen washcloth to help and ice cubes. Even those new ice makers, would be great to have... You will still need chew toys, you can make your own to save money. Towels rolled up with a para cord. Also, give big red one of your used shirts with your scent, like a security blanket for calming when you are not around.
