This happened a couple days ago and we are just now settling back to normal. Still on high alert for more rain. We got CAUGHT in a flood in Manila Philippines. Prayers to those who were more severely affected by the Typhoon Enteng. #typhoon #flood #philippines

Yes! Rewriting as just too scattered my 1st try. Yes, Ive unfortunately experienced flood disasters, but blessedly wasn’t too personally affected though in same city. Flash floods have taken the lives of people in areas of our state, when people drive thru deceptive depth water & the vehicle is swept up. Thank God you are safe. Sts. Florian & Margaret of Scotland, please pray for the Philippine people & us all to Our Almighty Father, for deliverance from floods & other weather calamities./ I know it is common place in Philippines, but sometimes seems there are too many stressors simultaneously. God bless the Philippine people. // I am appreciating the creative process of growth & change in the channel; but I also like this vlog’s aspect of “in the moment”, free flowing kinda documentary-like style. Maybe it was longer duration that I liked? These are just my impressions from one view/listen, but I liked that there was a lot of convo in this one. B talked, Sir C talked, Elegant Ma’am Mother of C talked. (I appreciate dialog especially becoz I often listen like a podcast, b4 being able to actually sit & view). But you two follow your muses, this is my 2 centavos fyi!

Cholo's paternal ancestral home is just amazing with its garden in the middle of the city. The prices for staying there as a a guest are very cheap for the location and quality of the accommodation. I'm glad you were both able to get there safely through the flooding.

@@cjcrystal1726 It's actually his step-dad's. So the house is under Siongco. Cholo's late biological dad side has the Roces-Montinola clan though. And the Montinolas hail from Iloilo and have ancestral/heritage homes there :D

Was his bio father’s name the Tolentino? Or maybe Sir Cholo used his mom’s name for his public / media name? I asked about this previously, but just reminding y’all since you were visiting with his mom in these recent postings; & maybe she would know if they are related to the famous artist & sculptor Guillermo Tolentino….if so or if not, that cud be an interesting series of vlogs: visiting his sculptures & work thruout the Philippines…Unless it is mostly in private hands, but the UP Oblation is visit-able.

Me and you Bianca never experience or seen flooding. I lived in Vancouver and Seattle and once in a blue moon there were snow storms no flooding. I drive a manual and I don’t think I know how to when flooding. I live in a village in Cavite and thank God no flood. Praying this rain would stop soon...keep safe.

Bianca I agree with your assessment; it is SO filipino. It encompasses many of my memories of relatives’ homes that I only visited once (some), becoz they lived far away in provinces.. But it also reminds me of classic Phil homes here in USA, always a piano, always photographs esp black & white; always the gorgeous hand crafted wood furniture. Maybe just one piece. I luv luv luv it. Ty for featuring its availability for stays. In the refurbished guest areas, I always enjoy a floating staircase. & I know many cultures incorporate these features, but it is the composite that strikes me as unmistakably Pinoy. In my observation/life, it seems to me Phil homes often show appreciation of art, often eclectic. Though familiar, each home is unique. I love the Art Deco or AD inspired windows or maybe mid century modern? Reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright style. The garden is to me tropical yes, but it also gives me The Secret Garden vibes. Scatter some fairy lights & pink accents, maybe a mushroom shaped gazebo ? Lol & it completely fits with my idea of Bianca. Well the whimsical side of her anyways. I believe from viewing her thu the years that she embraces eclectic , too. For example, she cud enjoy classic Victorian or Canadian hunting lodge rustic, totally. (I think)

I know Bianca dealt with storm prep on Boracay, but just in case this vlog reminded me don’t forget to keep extra water in cars, residences, on your persons, even. Pretty backpacks or large tote bags! & Sir Cholo’s memories made me think it’s always good to have a stockpile of wet wipes. An always useful travel hack but also smart to have small supply in residences.
