Let it marinate overnight. And let the chicken get some actual color on it before adding all the liquid into the pan. It’s never going to get brown or crispy that way. Color = flavor. And be careful not to let the marinade burn in the pan, because there’s a ton of sugar in that soda, and if it gets too hot for too long, and the water starts to evaporate, it’s essentially going to turn into caramel, and that pan will be a nightmare to wash.

Right marinade for an hr isnt gonna do shite and what an amateur no crust on the chicken wheres the sear where's the love this is gonna give you a sloppy hunk of essentisly boiled chicken with minimal flavor.... he could of poured alot less broth threw in a couple veggies like some yellow onion a bell pepper or 2 , they would of helped soak up any additional sauce/broth would of caramelized nicely and added some nice aromatics to the chicken, also he didn't need to waste that much olive oil a little goes a very long way, and especially since he added a swimming pool of sauce... * I judge everyone's cooking skills mostly on if they can cook chicken well or fish imo 2 of the hardest meats to perfect when you d, beef and pork are so easily second nature...

They changed the method. There are many versions of brined chicken across many cultures. The meat is brined from anywhere from 30 minutes to overnight. Then it is cooked in the brine. Then it is re-cooked in a number of methods. My favorite is breaded then deep fried. The marinade/brine can be frozen then reused multiple times adding your time and effort to the flavors.

Be careful serving this to someone with a seafood allergy. The oyster sauce could set off the allergic reaction.
@marleyhill34
@marleyhill34 2 ай бұрын
It depends on the oyster sauce and how strong their allergy is. Some modern Oyster sauces have little (0.3%) to no seafood in them. Before you cook for other people, always ask about allergies and then read the labels of everything you buy to cook with to understand possible allergies. For example, some things don't contain nuts but are made in a factory that also processes nuts. It ( speck of nut dust) could still be fatal for someone with a severe allergy.

What’s your marinade
@nayd.
@nayd. 2 ай бұрын
@@ashleymathieu8520 I dunno about their recipe, but mine requires placing marinated meat in refrigerator overnight. My recipe: ●Rinse your chicken beef or pork (I believe in washing off debris from the slaughterhouse) drain off excess water. ● In a large bowl add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice ● 2 tablespoons of vinegar ● 1 teaspoon of sugar ● 1 tablespoon of garlic powder ● 1 tablespoon of Black pepper ● 1 teaspoon of curry powder ● 1 teaspoon of Lawry's seasoning salt ● 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped garlic ● 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper ● 1 teaspoon of dried parsley ● 2 tablespoons of granulated chicken boullion ● 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning ● Make sure your meat is fully coated with marinade ●Cover then place in an airtight bowl overnight in refrigerator ● Take bowl out of refrigerator agitate/mix up meat and marinade just to make sure all sides are coated, because it will tend to settle on one side overnight ●Let meat sit in bowl for 30min so it's not stark cold before cooking. ● You can choose how you want to cook meat from there ● You can take marinated meat straight into dredge with flour then drop straight into hot oil until golden brown ● You can bake or grill ●You can place oil (canola is my recommendation, it has a high frying temperature & won't smoke) and fry directly in a pan on the stove top until all sides are brown & cooked fully ●Or lastly you can make a red sauce: cook meat on stove top in pan with oil, add in a cup of tomato sauce, 1/2 cup water & 2 teaspoons of butter, 1 teaspoon of tomato paste & 2 teaspoons of ketchup. Cook until sauce thickens. ☆Shortcut is to add 2 cups of spaghetti sauce, butter, ketchup and cook down if you don't have tomato sauce or paste. Enjoy over white or yellow rice!! I been cooking since I was 7yrs old. I'm 41 now. My background is Nigerian & Guyanese. I can cook literally anything! This is a recipe I can cook with my eyes closed! Hope you like it! 👍🏾 ❤

In countries where limes are more common - like much of Latin America - they are called limones, while lemons are sometimes known as limas. This is the case in Mexico, at least. In other places, like the Dominican Republic, limón is used for both lemon and lime.

I was going to say that the bones ruin the flavor of the meat but with all those strong flavored sauces and seasonings, it doesn't really matter. As a side note, I'd use that pan cooking liquid to make a thicker gravy with cornstarch and put atop the meat and a side of rice. Slightly crunchie cooked broccoli with a squirt of lemon would be a good accompaniment as well 😊

@marleyhill34 I know, but that's part of the fun! It's certainly not something you'd do every day, but only once in a while. I can't remember for sure, but didn't he say this was a restaurant dish? Personally, I wouldn't use soda pop, but that's what appeals to the younger set while on their youthful explorititory cooking adventures!

@@CheNarciso-nx3lc babes its a secret hack for a lot of restaurants if you put a little ketchup along side with another acidic ingrident either calamansi or lemon above the base vinegar this will produce a very warm hue of adobo sauce. we learned that trick from the doing our barbecues

If u marinade overnight, the marinade will penetrate to the bone. The meat color will be a reddish brown, not white, the sauces penetrating thru-out. Tastes even better. The marinade should hv no water, only sauces, not diluting the infusion. Marinade in ziplock bag to save space, and prevent evaporation. Add suitable amount of water only after the sauté-sealing process to the braising process. Sauté with lavish amount of green onion & ginger to remove the gamey taste.

No point having to remove liquid, you can just reduce and let it be so it can tenderize and caramelize better once the excess water content is reduced. However, this recipe is better grilled over charcoal fire cause it will wake up those oyster sauce notes
