Very good show! Back in 2007, we went to the "2007 CBC Classic" basketball tourney in KC and the KU fans were unsufferable. Ribbing all MU fans about how "fake" our football team was, etc etc. To see MU beat that team in KC, on the national stage, was nothing but awesome.

Ohio state played most of their defense in that cotton bowl game in 23 btw. We beat them pretty much full strength of defense with Sawyer playing. The only ones who sat out was MHJ and Mccord.

Does Gabe and every other Mizzou guy just forget about Carlies going to the Colts who also played a lot as a rookie. One of the hardest hitting safeties I’ve ever seen. That 2022 Georgia game was a highlight reel. Everything I see is “Mizzou had 5 guys drafted.”

The prob with the off was Cook had two ankle injuries & then broke his hand. It wasnt a coordinator or scheme issue. Mookie Cooper was injured & missed half the season. Marquis Johnson was hurt all season. Noel was hurt & missed 4 games. Norfleet was hurt all season & missed a bunch of games. So yeah when you're QB1, WR3, WR4, RB1, & TE1 are all hurt & miss a bunch of games, it'll impact your off....duh.

Brady Cook is not #5, he's #2. Who else is ahead of him besides Chase? Statistically he's top 2 in a bunch of categories & top 5 in almost everything. He's also a winner, which matters. Bad analysis Gabe.

I love Brady Cook. But 5th is spot on. 1. Brad Smith (he’s the reason, along with Pinkel, that Mizzou is even relevant in the 21st century) 2. Chase Daniel 3. Drew Lock 4. Blaine Gabbert 5. Brady Cook And an argument could be made for James Franklin at 5.

@@chadstearmanBrad smith was a legend. I had the privilege of watching him play while I went to school there. As much as I love Brady cook…Smith, Daniel and Lock are above him. I can understand putting him 4th, but not 2nd. Top 5 QB in any schools history is still a very commendable achievement.

I’m really high on this basketball team this year too…REALLY wish we could’ve held on against Texas, but I think that loss will make this squad even stronger…it’s been a long while since I thought that about a Mizzou loss. You really can’t blame Gabe for that prediction considering last year and A LOT of unknowns coming into this season.

@sarahbeth43 Predictions are about getting it right, not about "well it looked good at the time." That's a cop out. I said MIZ would go 5-0 into LSU, 10-2, bowl win, beat OSU by 11. Nailed them all. This year I said 10 wins. We had 9. Said we'd beat IOW. And I bet on mizzou all season and won a ton. If he's an expert, he should do better than me. I still hold we're a S16 team. We lost bc we didn't adjust to playing a slow methodical physical game. We'll be fine. If we just had Marquis instead of Crews in the game we would have won. Adjust, win the next one. It's a young team that's still trying to gel.

@ we’re both in agreement mizzou looks great this year, but I have to play devils advocate on your predictions statement - I think making a prediction is solely about how something looks at that moment lol. Of course they’re trying to get it right, but predictions themselves are made on the information the person predicting has at that time. I made out really well on mizzou’s bball team two years ago because I felt the same kind of under the radar, underestimated perception. I’m curious what your prediction is for next years football team? I think they can get 10 wins again.

@sarahbeth43 I disagree. The prediction is what you do at the time. Whether it's good or not depends on the outcome. FSU started the season #8. They had what? 1 win, or something crazy like that. Experts should have been able to see that their 1st rd NFL QB not being there along with all the guys they lost, wasn't going to turn out well. OU I said would be lucky to get to 6 wins, can't bring in 5 new OL, isn't gonna work. Pre season top 20. MIZ is easily top 20, prob a playoff team next year. 10 wins. All the tough games are at home. Pribula is really good, he'll be like Cook. Coleman will be a great slot WR. Only questions are DB & OL. DB guys have to step up, 2nd year in the system, no more multiple blown coverages every game. OL Tollison is an NFL guy, Green will be solid at LG. LT? RT? RG? are all a major question. Can't run RPO's, Outside Zone, or throw deep balls if the OL isn't on point. I think Pribula can negate some of that with his legs. If healthy I think Horn is going to compete for the job as well, & he's really really good, if he's healthy & can get up to speed. 10 wins.

Truth be told as a diehard Mizzou fan and alumnus, I’m not the biggest fan of Gabe or PowerMizzou. Gabe has always predicted Mizzou will be worse than what it is and is very negative in a lot of the articles on the site.

Mizzou doesn't make the SEC SCHEDULE. Next year it will be completely different except for Okla, Arky and Vandy. They are trying to establish real Conference Foes so each school has a pod like that
