I’m a Liverpool fan but damn I never expected them to be in this position. But if you look at the team it’s just perfectly suited to win right now. We have such a good mix of experience and youth, key players all throughout the team that have experience of winning and going through the grind. We have strong attacking players up front, a strong back line including Allison, and even our midfield, which was maybe our weakness the last couple years, just looks great. We have a new manager who seems tactically astute, who doesn’t seem to be controlled by his ego thinking he needed to change everything, but has tightened things up and helped provide more stability and control. Everything just looks great. If we do win it I hope the narrative doesn’t become “Well the team only won because Man City and Arsenal had bad seasons” because Liverpool really are playing great football and they legitimately deserve this.

Its not only that Liverpool have a lot of players who have won the EPL before, because its only 1 title that they won, but those players have amassed well over 90 points on 3 occasions. Therefore, they are experienced at amassing huge point totals, & during seasons where they have competed in & gone deep into other cup competitions. If not for Manchester City, who were near flawless in those other 2 seasons where Liverpool finished 1 poing behind, but in any other era, Liverpool would have had 3 titles in that period. So they have experience in grinding out results. That will most likely be the defining factor, as you cannot always play the football you want in this very tough competition, but you need experience in just getting points on days where it doesnt all go smoothly.

Listen to Slot during the press conferences, he's been asked about the title race over and over again and of course he says what nobody else seems to understand. There is a 2nd half of the season to play which consists of more games overall, we have won nothing yet and there is no reason, no indication that the title is certain at this point of the campaign. Let's stop hyping Liverpool up in regards to the EPL title (even though they are my club) and just enjoy the fact that they are playing some of the best football in Europe with the intention to continue doing so until the very last game.
