As a Liverpool fan, I am very pleased with how well this squad is developing. Klopp left at a great time really. Alexis, Szob, Gravenberch, Jones, Elliott and even having Endo as an option feels very strong with experience, big game mentality and captaincy and youth - I know our attack is lauded - rightly so - but the importance of that midfield balance is key. Slot seems calm, thoughtful and able to see through the adrenaline of a game and make big calls correctly. It’s a great example of evolution rather than revolution. Often a new manager and their staff seem to want to rapidly overhaul certain things - we see it a lot. With Klopp leaving the squad in a healthy position, Slot has identified the areas to improve and probably will do some shuffling of his pack, but also knows when some things ain’t broke, don’t try to fix them. The squad looks happy. Rory - despite the cavalier purchasing and contracts situation, Chelsea are having a good season, and I think they are a genuine threat. There is quality in that squad and Maresca seems similarly calm and able to see through the hype to making good decisions. But I think this season, barring a crisis, Liverpool can do it. I imagine Chelsea will push very hard next season. But these are very good times for Liverpool fans and we do not take it for granted. City are struggling, the cream is rising to the top ;) I have no complaints.

As for the leaders/experience I think that it is more important than ever and that it shows so well looking at the Liverpool content. There was a new coffee bar established at the training center and Salah is the most regular customer spending hours there with other players. Salah himself as the senior figure introduced a rule regarding it though, resulting in banned phones forcing others to bond and chat to each other and it seems to work splendidly so far. Other than that one can also just look at the video with the kid Isac and what Salah and Van Dijk tried to do for him with a smile on their face and I mean... Least I can say is that experience in the squad is very underrated recently.

It's a little known fact that during the summer months klopp used to head to the US to give these Ted talk things about elite man management to the FSG executives and board members, the real higher ups...klopp is the ultimate professional and despite the fans reticence he genuinely loved fsg, he has an incredible loyalty to them and felt at home hob nobbing with the billionaires at the helm of the organisation....when u realise this it comes as little surprise just how well he managed the transition to slot, he employed the tactics of elite business in accepting that all good things must come to an end, once we accept this we can take the emotion out of the situation and sincerely plan and try to put things in place that help the company be succesful after he left...it's a testament to the man's character...i mean yes he was handsomely remunerated but that does not always guarantee loyalty...Just look at how pep is handling his departure right now, he clearly has no loyalty to the Saudis, similar can be said of Fergie when he left utd, he was more interested in achieving one last title than he was the future of the club once he'd departed...i know the fsg model is not loved across the board but in klopp they found a kindred spirit who believed in what they are doing, I think that says a lot about them, if klopp loved them and they bring success on the pitch why are so many fans against them?

Ipswich are in the relegation zone. I don't see them dropping points even blinded unless Ipswich shows something special.

You know Rory, you may just be THEE most elegant and sofisticated non-pundit football commentator of this generation. What is there to fault? You back Chelsea to a fault sometimes but isn't that expected of a Chelsea fan. Anyway I just wanted to put that out there. Hope you've had an amazing Christmas and wishing you a Happy New Year and Great 2025!

We need to do a deep dive into the ballon d'or as we should boy cott it's because it's just used as a vehicle to boost real Madrid's and la ligas profile. Salah is the best player in the world by a long way.
@youngdolo813 сағат бұрын
Genuinely, who gives a shit? Ballon d'Or has just been a Ronaldo vs Messi pissing contest the last twenty years.
@davidn38113 сағат бұрын
@youngdolo8 Trent does. He knows but just putting the white shirt on he's 10x more likely to win it. I'm thinking it's a racket

How can people still say Salah is a stat padder? Its a world class player who can not really be in the game but provides when called upon
@kayhoorn10 сағат бұрын
10:53 impressive this guy knows his lore. Slot made Feyenoord champions, but Gakpo was the best player of the league that year. Funny how it all comes together now.

Definitely do a deep dive on Salah, I was gonna say to do one on the City striker but I genuinely can't remember his name. I think his father went over to Roy Keane when he'd done his acl and gave him a lot of stick, nearly sure Keane got his revenge when he returned. His all round game is of league 2 quality 😂.

As a red the only gripe i have is the number of goals we have started to concede. Nine in the last four games. That can get you in the end.If Konate comes back and stays fit we will in the title.If he dosnt we wont.

Whatever happens in the first half be sure that Slot has formulated a plan to set things right in the 2nd half.

it is strange how much opinions people had about this Liverpool team over the years. Questioning the star quality, talking down their level, their records and now, only now people are giving them props. Only took 5 years

I remember since early noughties 2000S for somone i used to look out for Feynood results in the champions league and Eridivise 😮 didn’t know Slot will come out from there and help the reds win the big no.20 league title ❤. History beckons for this great club

Yes we need a salah vid I don’t think people quite get how good of a season salah is having, so far he’s on 16 goals in prem this season he is 20 away from haaland record with 21 games remaining plus he has 11 assists we could see a player contribute over 60 goals in the prem alone, that’s not it either he’s also played 8 contributed 7 in champions league and league cup. We could see salah finish this season with 80+ goal contributions in all competitions this season and as a comparison messi best season is 105

At this point I don't want to think about trophies, just good to see that Slot is seeing that the strength in the squad is good. What would you like to see with Kelleher and Allison?
